Good evening all, firstly, apologies for the lack of match notes recently due to work commitments etc, but secondly, and most importantly, a Massive Thank You to our coaching staff, Dane, Chris and James for everything this season absolutely top class gents 👏

Furthermore, what a fantastic set of skilfully gifted lads we have as our squad, your all a credit to the management and yourselves, aswell as the club as a whole, well done all. 👏👏

Don't know if Dane Hurst Chris Hague and James McGowan have anything to add later on, but again, many thanks, and bring on next season 👍

Sheffield Rangers U18's 3-0 Stocksbridge Park Steels U18's Yellow 2024/25

A breezy morning in Hillsborough greeted both teams going into this top end of the table fixture, and it was our opponents who started the more brighter of the teams.

Having created few chances, we went in at half time 3 down.

Second half underway and the emphasis switched, the team talk at half time undoubtedly still echoing in the players ears saw a transformation in our attacking play, creating a host of chances to reduce the deficit, however a combination of good goalkeeping from the Rangers keeper and some last ditch interceptions, we unfortunately couldn't find a way through, resulting in a hugely disappointing defeat for the lads.

I'm pretty sure if we take our 2nd half performance into this weekends fixture against bottom of the league Killamarsh Dynamo's we could be in for a goal fest at Bracken Moor.

As always, heads up lads, we go again, and as usual a massive thanks to Coaches, Parents and Players alike.

Off the back of the impressive win the week before against Pen*stone Church, we visited Hillsborough College for our usual Sunday fixture.

With Harry back after his injury in the previous game, we started the game brightly creating plenty of chances in the opening 45 mins with a combination of great movement throughout the team, and what seemed the bit firmly between our teeth, going in to the break 2-1 to the good.

The second half also started brightly, both sides carving out opportunities, with Ecclesfield adding to their tally on two further occasions, swift breaks, often on the counter provided us with the impoteus to comfortably see the game out victorious, albeit a few scares on the way.

All in all an impressive victory, and let's hope we keep that momentum going through the remaining fixtures.

My personal man of the match was Kermarli, never stopped all game, chased down, bullied defenders, and did his job brilliantly, as did the whole squad.

Well done as always lads, coaches and parents.

We go again this coming Sunday away at the Jubilee Club Hillsborough versus Sheffield Rangers, all details to be communicated as usual by the management.

Dinnington Town A-A Stocksbridge Park Steels U18's Yellow 2024/25 2/2/25

Well, where to start... The lads set off with clear intentions this game was more than winable, showing some tenacious attacking play, and solid defensive work giving us a 2-0 lead.

After a coming together between 2 players one from either side, the referee intervention resulted in straight Red cards for both players, our management questioning the decision in a more than civil way cullmanated in a further Red card, the referee further chose to abandon the fixture with the score still at 2-0... questionable indeed.

Not the end product we needed, that said, the lads showed some real metal that will surely be carried into our next fixture.

Stocksbridge Park Steels U18's Yellow 2024/25 v Brunsmeer A.F.C - 26/01/2025

Unfortunately succumbing to a 0-1 deficit at half time after playing in fairness some good football, we regrouped at Half Time and came out pressing for an equaliser, nothing was dropping for us and the rub of the green was certainly not favouring us. For all the pressure we ascerted, we couldn't find a way through, succumbing to a sucker punch 2nd goal, late chances proved unfruitful finding ourselves on the end of a disappointing 0-2 defeat.

The lads gave their all, and as always, we go again this weekend as we are entertained by Dinnington Town F.C at the impressive Blackout13.com Arena

AFC Pogmoor 2-1 Stocksbridge Park Steels U18's Yellow 2024/25

After the extended break due to the weather, we headed for Barnsley to entertain league leaders AFC Pogmoor. Given the recent weather, the pitch was in decent condition at Kick off. After a lively start, with both sides having opportunity to opening the scoring, it was AFC Pogmoor who took the lead after a ball over the top from out on the right and the subsequent finish made it 1-0 to the hosts.

We were awarded a corner a while later, up step Finn, who casual as you like whips it into the far top corner for 1-1.

As the half progressed, again, a ball over the top unfortunately escaped our defence to make it 2-1 to the hosts.

With an inforced change due to injury in the second half, and some tactical tweeks saw us have our best spell on the game to no avail given the effort from the lads.

We go again this coming weekend when we entertain 2nd in the League Brunsmeer FC at Bracken Moor Pitches.

As expected, our fixture this weekend has fallen foul of the weather, all pitches are naturally unplayable and it's a knock for the lads, who haven't had a competive fixture for a few weeks. Keep fit boys in the meantime, and any further news will be communicated to all in due course.. 👍
