Gritstone Adventure Activities - Outdoor activities in the Peak District

A big thanks to Tom and Helen for attending one of our tailor made navigation courses today here in the Peak District. These two were quick learners and will go away with the foundations to make them independent in the hills and mountains. The weather was stormy here, but we still managed a very worthwhile day of training. Thanks guys!

We were honoured to have Yorkshire and Humberside Asbestos Support Group here for our charity abseil last week. There are more people suffering from asbestos related illness in Yorkshire than anywhere else in the country, so this is a really worthy local charity. Lovely to help these brave fundraisers out.

Jason and his Son James returned to climb with us for the third time this week and it was lovely to see them again. Jason has spent a total of six days climbing with us over the last few years and it really shows in his climbing development. This time Jason brought along his son, who's already a talented climber with the world at his feet. Great to see you guys and thanks for coming.

At the weekend we welcomed Lady Violet Manners, her sisters and friends to the Peak District for Lady Violet's Hen do. The ladies did really well climbing and abseiling at one of our favourite venues here in the Peak. We are really proud of our ongoing relationship with Belvoir Castle and the Manners family, lovely to see you ladies and well done.

Alex and family/friends, booked a caving experience last week here in the Peak District. It was great to see them and we devised a trip to suit all ages and abilities in their group. To make it easier for them, we met them at their campsite in the Peak, before heading to the cave. A great day out team, thanks for coming.

With marriage season well underway it's been lovely to welcome stag and hen groups back to the Peak District for tailor made adventures. Here's Ben's Stag Climbing day which we delivered last week... Tons of fun us as well as the group.

It was lovely to welcome Andrew and Brendan who came all the way from Donegal for five days of caving in the Peak District. These two experienced mountaineers have decided to extend their adventures underground with some guided trips and instruction. With our instructor Steve they began the trip with some instruction at a training facility before being guided around the highlights of Peak Caving. Thanks for coming guys, great week.

We had some really great fun at the weekend with Alec and friends on a stag do activities day. The guys elected to abseil from a 100ft bridge (like you do), before heading underground for a really adventurous caving trip. Good luck with the wedding!!

A big thanks to Jay and friends for really pushing themselves on one of our more adventurous caving trips recently. They walked, crawled, abseiled and climbed their way through one of the Peak District's most beautiful caves culminating in a rising traverse 20 metres above an underground river. Amazing effort! Thanks guys.

Another busy Bank Holiday weekend comes to a close with climbers, cavers and walkers enjoy the (mostly) sunny Peak District. Here's a picture some of Saturday's clients on a wedding celebration weekend - all the way up from London town. Great to have you boys and girls

We love welcoming back returning customers so it was really good to have Chris, Tom and James back here for some climbing and caving again. Over two days we visited two crags for some awesome climbing and two caves for some challenging caving. These guys did great and have developed some essential adventure skills 👌

It was a real pleasure to welcome committee members from Lincoln University Climbing club at the weekend. These guys needed to learn a range of skills and techniques to pass onto club members, so we devised a high instructor/client ratio for them here in the Peak District. It was great to deliver this for them.
