Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara 🇯🇵, who announced their retirement from competitive skating this week, were invited to the Spring Imperial Garden Party in Tokyo and met Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress. Towards the end of the conversation with each other, Empress Masako said she really liked figure skating and had attended 1994 Worlds in person in Makuhari to see the Pairs Free Skating. They actually remembered who won the title mentioning their names (Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov). Hopefully their son Maxim is heartened to hear his parents are fondly recalled by skating fans all over the world to this day.

この度、三浦璃来・木原龍一は今シーズンをもちまして現役を引退することを決断しました。 チーム結成当初から応援してくださった皆様、本当にありがとうございました。 私たち「りくりゅう」は、たくさんの方々に支えていただきながら競技活動を続けてくることができました。 困ったときには、いつもそばで手を差し伸べてくださる方々がいました。 その一つ一つの支えが、私たちを強くし、ここまで歩んでくる原動力になりました。 また、木下グループ様をはじめ全てのスポンサーの皆様、そしてどんなときも寄り添い続けてくれた家族や友人にも心から感謝しています。 そして、これまで支えてくださったBrunoコーチ、コーチングチームの皆様には、本当に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。 いつも私たちを信じ、ポジティブに導いてくださり、ありがとうございました。 喜びや悔しさを皆様と分かち合いながら、共に歩んできた時間は、私たちにとってかけがえのない宝物です。 これまで経験してきたすべての出来事や出会い、そして応援してくださった皆様への感謝の気持ちは、これから先もずっと忘れません。 競技人生には区切りをつけますが、私たちはやり切ったという気持ちでいっぱいで、悔いはありません。これまでのすべてが誇りであり、大切な財産です。 これからもペアを、日本の皆様にもっと知っていただけるよう、新しいことに2人で挑戦していきます。 今後とも温かく見守っていただけたら嬉しいです。 長い間、本当にありがとうございました。 三浦璃来•木原龍一 photo by @nobuaki.onno.tanaka

. 世界選手権🇨🇿 遅くなりましたが、世界選手権での たくさんの応援をありがとうございました！ SPでは少しアクシデントがありましたが、皆様の手拍子の歓声と一緒に楽しく滑ることができました。 FSでは自分の追い求めていた以上のパフォーマンスをすることができて、ラストのスピンのときからスタンディングオベーションや、たくさんの拍手や声援が聞こえてきて、夢のような時間と最高の景色を見ることができました。 ここ数シーズン、悔しい思いをすることが多く、辛いこともありましたが、最後に良い形でシーズンを終えることができて良かったです。 長いようであっという間のようで長いようなシーズンでしたが、ここまで支えてくださった関係者、周りの方々、そして、応援してくれた皆様、ありがとうございました。 そして、ご報告になりますが、次の2026-27シーズンは試合には出ず、休養を取ることにいたしました。 今後に向けて、新しい挑戦とともにフィギュアスケートの魅力を再発見したり、自分自身を見つめ直す時間を作って、過ごしていけたらと思います。 色んなプロジェクトを進めているのでお楽しみに待っていただけたらありがたいです。 今後もアイスショーやイベントがあるので、皆様の前で姿をお見せできるのを楽しみにしてます！ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sorry this is a bit late, but thank you so much for all your support at the World Championships! I had a little accident in the short program, but thanks to all your clapping and cheers, I was still able to skate with a smile. In the free skate, I was able to perform even better than I had hoped. When I hit the final spin and heard the standing ovation, the applause, and all the cheers, it honestly felt like a dream. I’ll never forget that moment or that view. past few seasons have brought many frustrations and difficult moments, but I’m glad I was able to finish the season on a positive note. It felt long, yet short, yet long again — a season full of ups and downs — and I want to thank everyone who supported me: the staff, the people around me, and all of you who cheered for me. I also have an announcement. For the 2026–27 season, I’ve decided to take a break from competing. I want to use this time to rediscover what makes figure skating so special, take on new challenges, and reflect on myself as I look toward the future. I’ve got a few projects in the works, so I hope you’ll look forward to them! There will also be ice shows and events, so I’m excited to see you all again and skate in front of you soon.
