What a day yesterday!! πŸ’ͺπŸ–€πŸ€

I got to train with the Desert Rats Hockey Tour and it was SO fun!! I trained with some of my Under 8s and Under 10s teammates… but also got to skate with some of the older players too which was really cool 😎πŸ”₯

I was on the rink for 7 hours!! πŸ˜… It was a long day but honestly it’s my favourite place to be πŸ’™πŸ’

Coach Rene Bernardo told me how important it is to work really hard when I’m over in the USA on the big rinks πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got!! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

I’m so excited for what’s coming up…
πŸ’ Lion Cubs Under 10s Nationals next Saturday
✈️ Then off to Germany on Sunday for the PAMA Cup with Mooseheads πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

This one was for my Great Nanna Appleby πŸ’™

Going into the Under 9s BiPHA Nationals yesterday, all I wanted was to score my first goal and dedicate it to my Great Nanna, who sadly passed away this week. ❀️

It turned into more than just a hockey day though… it became a full-on road trip with my daddy πŸš—πŸ’¨

We travelled down to Sheffield on Friday night ready for an early 8:25am start at Skate Central, and what a day it turned out to be β€” non-stop hockey all the way through until 9:30pm (which was definitely way too long for a day of hockey πŸ˜…).

Playing for the Devils, we battled hard all day and made it all the way to the 3rd place play-off πŸ’ͺ

Unfortunately, during our game against the Ducks, our netminder became poorly. With the score at 1–1 and only 8 minutes left, and no spare goalie available (especially that late in the day), both teams agreed to finish the game as a draw β€” meaning we shared 3rd place 🀝πŸ₯‰

Personally, it wasn’t my best start to the day. I was trying *too hard* to get that goal for my Great Nanna, and it just wasn’t coming. After our third game, my daddy told me to relax, let my hands flow, and focus on my game.

Next game… it clicked πŸ’₯
I got my goal ❀️

After that, I started to find my feet and my hands, and just enjoyed playing the game I love πŸ’

Even though it was such a long day, I had **the best time** with my best mate Eden, and I’ve made some brilliant friends this season with the Devils team.

Thank you for having me β€” I’ll see you all at the rink very soon! πŸ™Œ

πŸ’ Why I Love Inline Hockey (and why more kids should try it!) πŸ’

Hi everyone πŸ‘‹

I play inline hockey and I love it!

It’s really fun, really fast, and you get to learn loads of cool skills while playing games with your friends πŸ’

I think more kids my age (under 8s) should try it because:
βœ… You learn how to skate and play
βœ… You get better really quickly
βœ… You make new friends
βœ… And it’s just really fun!

If you’ve ever wanted to try hockey, this is a great place to start πŸ‘‡

What a DAY today!!! πŸ˜„πŸ’

I got to play with my Lion Cubs Under 12s team mates and my best hockey mate from Under 8s, Eden!! πŸ’™

I scored at least one goal in every game and now I’m on 76 points for the season!!! 🎯πŸ”₯

BUT the best thing was how we all played as a TEAM πŸ’ͺ
We were the youngest team there today (average age 10 😲) but we competed in every single game!

We even went 1-0 up against the favourites from my snipe of a shot! πŸš€πŸ₯…
We were only 1 goal down going into the 2nd period… but with only 1 change our legs were soooo tired πŸ˜… and we lost in the end β€” but it felt like a win because we made them work really hard!!!

Then we beat Trixtures βœ…
AND got a draw against North Stars 🀝

That meant we played them again in the semi final 😬
We started slow and were 5-0 down… but our coach said treat it as a 0-0 game in the 2nd period… AND WOW WE DID!!! πŸ’₯

We pulled it back to 5-4!!! 😱πŸ”₯
They got a late goal so we didn’t make the final… BUT we didn’t stop!!!

We went into the 3rd place game and gave EVERYTHING πŸ’ͺ
We beat Trixtures again and won our FIRST CUP of the season!!! πŸ†πŸ₯³

So proud of my team today ❀️
We worked hard, played amazing, and had so much fun together!

Can’t wait to play with you all again next season in Under 12s and Under 14s!!! πŸ™Œ

πŸŽ₯ GoPro videos coming over the next few days πŸ‘€

Had an absolutely amazing day at the Silky Mittz Skillz Training Session at the UKIHF Junior Rink in Market Drayton! πŸ’πŸ”₯

6 hours on the rink… and honestly, it flew by because it was such a blast!

I got the chance to take part in loads of brilliant drills, all coached by Brian and his fantastic team.

The energy, the pace, and the quality of coaching was top level the whole way through πŸ™Œ

It was also great to see some familiar faces and catch up with friends, as well as meet some new ones along the way πŸ‘Š

It was a long day, but such an enjoyable one where I really got to work hard on my skills and pick up some new ones too.

One of my biggest takeaways from the session was protecting the puck along the boards. I’ve been working on this already, but Coach Brian showed me a brilliant way to improve it β€” focusing on quicker feet movement and using my body positioning properly to shield the puck and stop players getting near it πŸ’ͺ

Definitely something I’ll be taking into games… especially with Under 12s Nationals this Saturday with Lions IHC Cubs! πŸ¦πŸ’
Massive thank you to everyone involved β€” what a session πŸ‘

Last Monday, I put the GoPro on for something a little different… πŸ‘€πŸŽ₯ 26/05/2026

πŸŽ₯ Behind the Scenes – Coaching the Next Generation 🦁❀️

Last Monday I decided to stick the GoPro on during our Lions Cubs Skills Foundation session to capture a little bit of what we do each week… and I’m so glad I did πŸ™Œ
One of the highlights for me was spending some 1-to-1 time with Noah. He’s only 4 years old and has been with the Cubs for just 3 months, but the progress he’s made is unbelievable 🀯 His skating is coming on massively, and he’s really starting to get to grips with his stick handling too πŸ‘
He’s taken a real shine to me, and I absolutely love coaching him – this is what it’s all about ❀️
What makes it even more special is seeing how far Ellis has come. He’s now helping and inspiring the next generation coming through the club, and as a parent and coach I couldn’t be prouder πŸ’™
This video is just a 10-minute highlight of the session, but it shows exactly why we love what we do – building confidence, developing skills, and having loads of fun along the way πŸ™Œ
πŸ‘‰ Also, if anyone would like to support Ellis on his journey, he’s been incredibly proud to be selected to play internationally this year:

πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ Mooseheads – PAMA Cup (Germany)
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Desert Rats – NARCH Cup (USA)
playing across Under 8s and Under 10s 🦁

Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to help him take these amazing opportunities:
