11 YEARS OF REVOLUTION STUDIOS ❤️

CELEBRATION SALSA PARTY - 17 OCTOBER | 8PM–1AM

11 years of growth, evolution and a whole lot of dancing. We’re so grateful to every dancer, teacher, collaborator, performer, DJ and friend who has been part of the Revolution journey over the years and helped us grow into the studio we are today. This celebration is for all of you. ❤️

Our actual anniversary was 8 August, but with the summer break falling around it, we wanted to wait for a new term and a new season, when everyone was back, settled and ready to come together on a Saturday night and dance.

Join Attila & Jaleh for their Salsa class from 8–9pm, followed by the Salsa Social from 9pm–1am.

We’re also incredibly excited to welcome one of our favourite DJs, the amazing DJ Sassia, all the way from London! We can’t wait to have her set the soundtrack for our anniversary celebration and make this a night to remember 🔥

HEELS TECHNIQUE & FOUNDATIONS — FLOORWORK SPECIAL WITH GEORGIA | WEDNESDAY 30 SEPTEMBER | 6pm–7.15pm ✨

This Wednesday, we’re bringing you something a little different in our Heels Technique & Foundations class. 
Join Georgia for a special Floorwork-focused session, exploring movement, transitions, technique and the use of the floor in heels.

A little about Georgia - Georgia Rowan is a Sheffield-based dance artist, trained at Iwanson International in Munich and London Contemporary Dance School. Her professional background spans contemporary dance, dance theatre, site-specific and immersive performance, film and community projects, alongside teaching contemporary and heels to adults of all ages.

Her strong contemporary and movement background brings a different perspective to heels — particularly when it comes to floorwork, body awareness, control, movement quality and transitions.

We want our Heels Technique & Foundations classes to be about more than just learning the foundations. They’re also an opportunity to learn from different dancers and teachers, discover new ways of moving and keep expanding your movement vocabulary.

KIZOMBA COMMUNITY UK X REVOLUTION STUDIOS SHEFFIELD

kizomba_communityuk are bringing their social to Sheffield for the first time, and we’re opening the doors of Revolution Studios to make it happen. Expect an afternoon of dancing, music, socialising, new connections and plenty of reasons to stay on the floor.

🚨 MONDAY 14 SEPTEMBER — TIMETABLE REMINDER 🚨

Just a reminder that Heels is not running this Monday, but we’re making the most of the shorter time we have between our studio hire and Kizomba!

✨ FREE BELLY DANCE TASTER & PRACTICE SESSION
7.30pm–8.15pm

This will be a fun, relaxed and shortened session for this week only, so come along, have a dance and make the most of the time we have! Everyone is welcome — completely FREE! 🥰

🎶 CONTRATIEMPO + CUBAN SON THIS SUNDAY! 🇨🇺

Two musicality focused workshops with Attila & Jaleh at Revolution Studios.

CONTRATIEMPO | 7–8pm
The upbeat is full: clave, bass, conga, piano, bell… while the downbeat isn’t. Some instruments simply skip it.

That’s contratiempo, a musical concept that existed long before salsa.

We’ll learn to hear it, feel it and use it to guide how we move, rather than simply counting our way through the music.

CUBAN SON | 8–9pm
Before salsa, there was Son, one of the roots of what salsa became.

If rumba, the mother of salsa, gave it playfulness and sabor, Son, most definitely the father, gave it elegance, groove and flow with your partner.

This is an introduction to the movement, musicality and fundamentals of Cuban Son, not a history lecture!

✨ Suitable for On1, On2 & Cuban dancers.

And yes… we will forget how to count for an hour… in a good way. 😏

Starts this Thursday 10 September at 6PM ✨

Don’t miss your chance to join this round of beginners! This is a 12-week progressive course, with each week building on what you’ve learned before, so you can develop your skills and confidence week by week.

You can join during the first 3 weeks only — after that, admissions will close until our next course in January!

🎶 4 WK SALSA MUSICALITY & MOVEMENT COURSE STARTS TONIGHT! 🎶

Ready to move beyond simply dancing on the counts and start truly dancing with the music?

Join Attila & Jaleh TONIGHT at 7:30pm (10 June) for the start of our brand new 4-week Salsa Musicality & Movement Course.

Over 4 weeks, you’ll learn a choreographed solo routine to a classic salsa track while exploring:

✨ Musical phrasing & structure
✨ Different instruments, rhythms & accents
✨ Body movement & musical interpretation
✨ Timing variations & rhythm exercises
✨ Expression, texture & dynamics
✨ Solo salsa confidence
✨ How to break away from predictable patterns and truly connect with the music

This course is designed to help you hear salsa differently, feel it more deeply, and express it more creatively in your dancing.

🎵 SALSA MUSICALITY POP-UP CLASS 🎵

Join Attila & Jaleh this Wednesday from 7:30pm–8:30pm for a special introduction to Salsa Musicality!

Discover the instruments, rhythms and musical layers that make salsa come alive, and learn how to translate what you hear into your dancing. Through solo footwork, movement exercises and musical interpretation, you’ll start to build a deeper connection with the music and gain tools to dance with more confidence, creativity and expression.

This class will also give you a sneak peek into our upcoming 4-week Salsa Musicality Course, allowing you to experience some of the concepts we’ll be exploring in much greater depth over the following weeks.
