A clear view underwater isn’t just about the prescription lenses—it’s about the ritual of care that keeps your mask fog-free and ready for adventure. Here’s the simpleroutine we recommend for every scuba mask owner.

🌊 Why Masks Fog

Warm, moist air inside the mask condenses on the cooler lens surface.

New masks often have a thin silicone film that attracts condensation.

Oils from fingers or suncream can break down defogging films.

🧼 Step 1: Pre-Treat Your Mask

For new masks: Use non-gel toothpaste or a mask cleaner to scrub away manufacturing residue.

Rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

💧 Step 2: Apply Defogging Solution

Choose your preferred method:

Baby shampoo: A drop diluted with water creates a gentle, effective coating.

Commercial defogger: Reliable, long-lasting, designed for divers.

Saliva: A quick, natural option if nothing else is available.

Lightly rinse after application, leaving a thin protective film.

🚫 Step 3: Avoid Contamination

Don’t touch the inside of the lens after applying defogger.

Keep suncream and oils away from the mask interior.

🤿 Step 4: During the Dive

If fogging occurs, let in a small amount of water, swish it around, then clear the mask.

Clean thoroughly.

Apply defogger.

Rinse lightly.

Avoid contamination.

Reset underwater if needed.

Our corrective lenses, to your precise prescription, will be permanently bonded to the rear of the mask’s original flat (plano) glass, though, in cases of very high prescriptions, they may be bonded to the front surface.

If you’re worried your prescription will be too thick then don’t worry - we can fit thin, high index, lenses to your existing, or new, scuba diving mask too. 🦪
