Roaming Chom - A tale of two thrashings.
In honour of our Club President Mike Smedley’s passing the Cricket Club will be hosting a wake on Friday 21st August from 5pm in the pavilion.
This will provide an opportunity for past and present players, supporters, members, as well as friends of other clubs to come together to honour the amazing man we all knew and respected.
I’m sure we all have stories of Mike and it would be fantastic for everyone to come together and share them.
Please spread the word, we look forward to seeing you all.

Funeral arrangements
Mike’s funeral is at Mansfield Crematorium on Monday 17th August at 12 15 pm. Then, afterwards at The Larch Farm Pub.
All at Kiveton Park Colliery Cricket Club are sad to hear of the passing of our President Mike Smedley at the age of 84.
Mike dedicated most of his life to KPCCC in various roles, including club captain. He served them all with distinction.
He holds a number of records for the club, not least highest run scorer, most centuries and longest serving player.
Added to this a distinguished career with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, whom he served from 1963 until 1979, which included a stint as club captain, he was a truly great servant to Cricket at all levels.
After his playing career ended at Kiveton he was elected President of the Bassetlaw League and later President of Nottinghamshire CCC but continued to serve Kiveton as a much valued Committee member.
Our thoughts go out to Mike’s family and friends at this sad time.
From all at KPCCC, thank you for everything.
RIP Smed
