Shepshed Cricket Club

Shepshed Cricket Club Morley Lane, Shepshed and Pudding Bag Lane, Shepshed Shepshed CC is a local village club that has been established since 2015.

The club provides cricket for the serious and social adult player through to veterans and for junior players at varying levels. We welcome players of all ages and abilities. We have a strong team spirit in all teams and a family atmosphere is felt throughout the club.

Over at Barrow the 1s recorded their 11th win of the season to secure a 7th place finish in the Premier Division. Jonty's sixth half century of the season and contributions throughout the order helping us chase the hosts 211 all out.

Gossy the star with the ball in this one taking 4-26 from his 10 overs in the first innings.

All in all a very good season for the 1s who had a number of injuries to deal with but came back strong in the second half of the season.

At Morley Lane there was a bit of an end of season feel about this one, but wickets for Kumara and Clap restricted Rothley to just 151 all out.

Unfortunately it proved a few too many for the 2s who were bowled out for just 131 despite 33 at the top of the order for Jay and a 58 run partnership for the last wicket between Zac and Benji.

So the 2s finish 8th, a good effort in a really strong league with lots of close games.

The final game of the season saw the 4s finish a great season on a high. Three more wickets for Scrimmy in the first innings helping restrict the hosts to 202/7. A great team effort in the chase then saw us get over the line in the 38th over. 27* to Srimmy and Kerad's sixth half century of the season the main contributions.

14 wins and a fourth place finish for the 4s - an excellent season for us.

On Sunday our rearranged county final saw our Under 18 girls retain their title. A low scorer against hosts Lutterworth, with Eleanor the pick of the batters and Hannah and Karina picking up the wickets of Lutterworth's top 4 to blunt the chase.

Tomorrow morning our Under 18 Girls will look to defend their county title in a repeat of last year's final against Lutterworth. The action starts at 10am over at Sileby Town, with food available and the bar open from 12.

A bit of rain around today but here are your teams for Week 20 - the final week for the 3s who host Mangela at Pudding Bag Lane. Moose will be looking to finish on a high! Other home entertainment comes from the 1s who face Loughborough Town at Morley Lane.

On the road the 2s have a huge game at Ibstock and the 4s make the trip to Great Dalby to face Egerton Park.
