It’s fun but competitive where nobody takes it serious, well not that serious anyway and the ref well to be honest he does need glasses

And another fine evening saw a seven a side duel between the red bibs and blue bibs hard fought and competitive match with reds coming out 3-1. We even saw an injured Roy the Cat Henderson out on pitch proving with his shooting why he is a keeper …….

If you think your to old to play think again cause walking football is open to all as we prove each week as a mix of 50 year olds 60year olds and even some 70 year olds do battle like a bunch of geriatric gladiators rolling back the years to their youth.

Not even a thunderstorm of biblical proportions stops Shepton Walking Football and the eternal battle between Red bibs and Blue bibs …. For the record Red bibs won 3-1 this week, thanks to a save or three from the keeper and a missed penalty for persistent non walking.

With the evening being light and bright over the summer and with the excitement of the World Cup maybe now’s a good time to try out walking football ……. I hear Messi and Modric are looking into walking football after this World Cup !!!!!

Nice to see so many coming out for our spring social Curry night last Friday, lots of good food and drink and plenty of chat about football was had by all.

Another fun evenings entertainment and exercise for 16 mature gentlemen down on the Astro pitch in Shepton on Monday. The game itself saw the red bibs come out on top 4-2 although it could easily have been the other way around.

Remember you are never to old to get back to playing football or even take it up for the first time and walking football is the game to play

Some pictures from last Months Walking Football Festival down at Street. This was our first tournament and we played 6 games winning 2 drawing 3 and loosing just the one game. Much fun was had by all and made all the practice on Monday nights worth while and we are already looking forward to playing again on May 7th.

If anyone fancy’s giving it a go we meet on Monday nights in Shepton on the Astro turf at 7pm all are welcome what ever there football level just be prepared to have fun.

As we are looking to do more tournaments in the future we are looking to purchase a proper football strip for the team so if there are any local business in Shepton that would like to sponsor us and help with the strip that would be wonderful
