10 years ago today, our lives changed in ways we could never imagine.

10 years ago today at 5.15pm we held our very first martial arts class in Sherburn in Elmet.

10 years later, we are in our 3rd (and final) venue, and amazing 5000sqft dojo, over 400 current student, 2nd full time dojo opened in Goole,1000's of lives touched by martial arts, 20 staff and 46 students about to represent England in the world championships

It's been a journey of amazing memories, occasional stress and a huge developmental curve, and we wouldn't change a single thing.

To everyone we have met along the way, thank you for making our dreams come true.

💥🎒 ONE WEEK TO GO! 🎒💥

The countdown is officially on… just ONE WEEK until the new school year begins! 😱

And if you’re a parent, you might already be noticing a whole mix of emotions from your child.

They might be…

😍 Really excited to see their friends again.
😬 A little nervous about what’s coming.
🤔 Worried about a new teacher, new class or new challenges.
🥹 Or maybe feeling a bit of everything all at once!

And you know what? That’s completely okay. ❤️

Sometimes we forget that starting a new school year can feel like a BIG deal for our children.

Even the ones who seem super confident can have those little worries bubbling away underneath. 🥰

As parents, we can’t take every worry away for them… but we can help them feel prepared to face it. 💪

Because confidence doesn’t magically appear when they walk through those school gates.

✨ It’s built through small moments.
✨ It’s built through encouragement.
✨ It’s built by trying things that feel uncomfortable.
✨ And it’s built by learning that they CAN handle challenges.

That’s one of the reasons we love martial arts so much. 🥋❤️

We’re not just teaching children how to kick and punch.

We’re helping them develop confidence, resilience, discipline and belief in themselves — skills they can take with them into school and everyday life.

So this week, if your child is feeling nervous, don’t tell them “there’s nothing to worry about.”

Instead, remind them:

“Whatever happens, you’ll be okay. And I believe in you.” ❤️

Sometimes that little bit of reassurance is exactly what they need. 🥰
