ELMHAM CUP CHAMPIONS! 🏆

It’s a league / cup double this year in the Elmham League as Shipdham won in wet conditions today at Lyng for the Cup final against Wells Town Bowls Club.

Worthy opponents who pushed us all the way but our team came out on top with one rink skipped by Bradley George gaining a huge lead to get the side home overall.

The other two rinks fought well to keep things tight and we snuck the overall to claim the trophy!

Congratulations to Captain Jo Thwaites for her incredible work leading the side once again this year.

What a way to top off the season guys, fantastic once again… this season really has been the best ever for our small club! 🔵🟡

ANOTHER TOP DAY!

Now that the leagues have finished and indoors has begun, there’s not much Bowls happening for the rest of this month.

However, our member, Richard Bowen kindly volunteered to host 2 weekend sessions for our members who have not gone indoors.

Today was more of a tournament day in which Chris H walked away victorious with Jo T coming in a close second!

Next weekend is a skills and drills day in which Richard again is kindly hosting so we look forward to seeing everyone there!

NEW MATCH DAY JACKS! 💥

Some exciting news… we have kindly been sponsored for some brand new match day jacks.

These are personalised and engraved with our Shipdham Bowls Club logo and the initials J.R.E.

J.R.E was our sponsor’s choice of initials for a Welsh Bowling legend, John Russell Evans who was a Welsh international and competed at the highest of levels including winning British Isles titles and Captaining the Welsh Commonwealth Games side.

I think they look great and the engraving makes these jacks super special to our club! 🔵🟡

WE’RE IN THE FINAL! 🥳

Fantastic news AGAIN tonight as Shipdham reach the final of the Elmham Cup competition after a win against Swanton Angel.

A win on 2 rinks and the overall clinched means we now head to the final for the chance of yet more silverware for this record breaking season!

It’s been a truly fantastic season for Shipdham Bowls Club!

Tonight, a win on 2 rinks seals another league title, this time in the Dereham League!

The club has really shown depth in our squads this season and everyone together has achieved some incredible statistics!

We are proud to have a mixture of new and experienced players in our squads and EVERYONE has played a part in the most successful season in the club’s history!

A club that are moving forward on and off the green, we are so proud to with our level of success for such a small club! 😃

Our 3rd league title of the season has just been wrapped up with a solid win in the Elmham league away at Reepham.

NEW IRRIGATOR! 🤩

We are thrilled to announce a huge improvement to our club which will really help over coming seasons.

We have invested in a brand new irrigation system! 💦

With the climate changing, keeping the green in good spec whilst handing the changing conditions has been tough with our old fashioned method for watering the green.

However, this new, upgraded system will be much better suited for our club and for keeping the green at the high standard our team have managed to get it to over the last few years.

This season, we decided to enter a new league and joined the Ashill triples league!

Captain Roger Rudling has lead the team through an unbeaten season where we finish top of the division and are now promoted to Division 2 next season!

A massive thank you to Colin for his organisation of today’s fun day up the club.

A great turnout with good Bowls, a few nibbles and drinks and a great atmosphere.
