Minster Chopster electric Bike

Reading about ebike riders losing their bikes because of breaking the uk law on motor size. It seems like a recalibration of the law is required. I can ride a 1 ton 1 horse power horse on the road without brakes but I can’t ride a 65kg 1 horse power (746 watt) e-bike with brakes on the road. Maybe law makers are confused with the term 750 watts and think it’s the same as a 750cc motorbike. This post is not having a go at horse riders so keep your jodhpurs on. It about the unfairness that sensible e-bike riders suffer, this doesn’t include the ebike riders who ride like dicks: laws already exist to punish these. Riders who use their bikes for work and commuting are not the same as those who pull wheelies in shopping centres or terrorise pedestrians.
