it's not a veggie diet and that dieting group your friend is in, It's not shakeweights, it's not that shiny new icebath, and it NOT a sh*t ton of cardio.
Here's what you need to buy into for 2024... Control your calories, eat enough protein, fruit, and veg, strength train mostly, cardio a bit, sleep better, and BE CONSISTENT. Now... do you want help with the above? Great, there's plenty of supported research and information and free plans to achieve all the above.

If you want to get good at something, you have to be able to put in the miles (literally in this case).
I went for a run - and wow it was crap relative to where I use to be, but I know if I want to get better at running (shocker) I need to do more of it.
Same goes with any specific realm of fitness. If you want to get better at something... do more of it!
I see too many beginners start by wanting it all and spread themselves too thinly, never becoming proficient at one thing, and giving up. A jack of all trades, but a master of none.
Needless to say I'll be doing more running.

Part of my job is telling people when they're headed in the wrong direction despite their best efforts.
Some people need to be eating MORE protein based foods to help their weight loss efforts. While this sounds counter productive - eating more protein keeps us fuller for longer (assisting in reducing calories elsewhere in our diet), burns more calories to digest relative to carbs and fat, and helps build muscle which increases our ability to burn calories at rest.
So if you're struggling to shift some weight, assess how much protein your having while aiming for 1g of protein per lb. of goal weight.

Working with a trainer is a mix of what you NEED and what you WANT.
This message came through after an absolute monster AMRAP (As Many Reps As Possible) workout with the sole purpose to annihilate this client. And then they come back saying they want more 😅 Alright buddy - you asked for it.
