Great day yesterday thermaling in some really solid climbs.

Was our pleasure to fly all customers yesterday.

Yesterdays thermaling action at Llangollen.

We climbed up to 3,000ft and could of gone a lot higher.....But that would of meant we would of had to go on a XC downwind with the the rest of the gaggle.

📢We are now into month 4 of Zero flyable windows in Shropshire.

🌬️🌧️This winter has been our toughest yet, with constant strong winds and rain showers which have latested weeks, this has prevented us from venturing out and flying you all.

☀️However we are now entering spring and hopefully things should start changing.

🚫Paragliders have a safe operating wind range, too light and we won't stay up and too windy and we start going backwards.

☺️We are VERY keen to get out and hopefully we can offer you all some flyable windows slots soon.

Thanks for your patience.

Did you know in the summer months we can fly up to the clouds if the conditions allow?

We use something called thermals, Thermals form from the sun's uneven heating of the Earth's surface, creating columns of warm, less dense air that rise like invisible balloons, often from dark surfaces or rocks. This rising warm air, called a thermal, cools as it ascends, and if it reaches the dew point, moisture condenses, forming cumulus clouds (which is what you can see behind us) We climb up to the base of these and then fly on to the next one.

The cloud base for this flight was 4,400ft, Cloud base isn't always the same and the height of these can vary depending upon the conditions on the day.
