LOOKING BACK ….
As 2025 draws to a close, it is good to reflect on a successful and fun-filled year of training, to appreciate all that we have learned and to take stock and acknowledge the progress we have made and friendships we have formed. That reflection provides a good springboard into the year ahead and gives an opportunity to plan and prepare for our next set of goals.

LOOKING FORWARD ….
2026 brings many more exciting opportunities including courses in Shrewsbury, Manchester and Bristol and the annual Sh*toryu Shukokai Karatedo World Union summercamp which this year is in Passau, Germany.
Regular classes will restart from Tuesday 6th January and we look forward to seeing you all back in the dojo!

A reminder that our classes carry on as normal throughout the school half term. Try to use the opportunity to fit in some extra lessons!

HALLOWE'EN KATA CHALLENGE!
In our 5.30pm classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Wear fancy dress and be as imaginative and spooky as you can!

UPDATE!
All our Karate Kids and Cadets have been working extra hard to earn their DETERMINATION merit awards. Presentations will begin this week. Here is some of feedback from parents. Well done!

Congratulations to all our Karate Kids who recently earned their RESPECT merit awards!

As we all know, karate begins and ends with respect.

You all engaged brilliantly with this theme, exploring the meaning and importance of respectful behaviour - not only in the dojo but in everyday life too. We enjoyed hearing your thoughts and examples and we loved getting such positive feedback from your parents on your brilliant attitudes. Well done!

Now we are working on our next merit award ... DETERMINATION!

Congratulations to Daniel May Montana on your promotion to Nidan (2nd Dan).

Daniel started training with us over 10 years ago and earned his Shodan (1st Dan) with the Mileham Karate dojo in Shrewsbury. He has been in the UK preparing intensively for his Nidan over the last several months and will soon return to teach in his own dojo in Santiago, Chile (an honorary member of Shukokai England).

Well done Daniel. You are a good friend and very valued member of our club. We are all delighted by your achievement and look forward to your return to the UK and training together with you again.
