Hay Everyone,
Yes, it's been a while since I posted on , but I wanted to be transparent and open as I started this movement to talk/listen about mental health with people and allow people to speak freely as we all have challenges but also have empathy for each other.
I've been busy behind the scenes, as we all are. Parenting, work and maintaining friendships that I hold very close take up so much of my time.
I always have Talk to Tom close to my heart and how it's helped others but I want to practice what I preach about mental health. Knowing that I'm good at helping, listening and connecting to others with my life.
But honestly have no idea how to look after myself. My self worth and self esteem needs to be looked at. Battling with aphasia means processing and speech difficulties and I was never able to communicate my emotions effectively.
This post is to say that I'm starting therapy for myself and I wanted to share, be transparent, be open and let people know that it's not a negative to go and ask for help but it's the first step in the process of learning your self worth and putting yourself as priority for the first time.
I know that when the time comes, I'll be back to Talk To Tom.
This is axiom

Big thank you to for having me today βπ always a great atmosphere and great music πΆ π
Met Liam today through sheer coincidence. He was grabbing a coffee and doing some work and we got chatting about music. Our conversation continued onto documentaries, his job as an editor for the BBC and Talk to Tom and we realised we have a shared love of chatting to others and hearing about their stories. Turns out Liam and I are very similar!
We both agreed that if more people lend and ear or strike up a conversation with someone in a coffee shop, the population's overall mental health would improve. We talked about how important it is to sit back and reflect and every now and then be still. ππ
Great chatting to you pal π keep doing what your doing π€
Keep a look out for my next whereabouts π
Much love

Hay Everyone ππ
Hope you're all looking after yourselves and catching up with friends and relatives altogether π
I'll be at
This Saturday 29th July from 10am -11:30am πβ
I really began to doubt whether anyone still needed Talk To Tom. I ended up needing a longer break from it than I initially anticipated; trying to balance work, home life and social life. But, I recently received a message from someone in need and I realised services like Talk To Tom will always be vital. Even if it helps just one individual, I'm doing my bit to help others. Realising that the enjoyment of doing Talk to Tom is still there π
I'll always want to help others by lending an ear free of serviceβπ
Look forward to seeing you all
Much love

Thanks to for having me ππ especially to the individual who came in today to catch up and chat about the goals and strategies how they come up with strategies to support their mental healthβπ
It's really important to understand other people's strategies and coping mechanisms around mental health, as its good to share similar challenges and find something that will help you along the way π
To do this is by talking openly around mental health and simply chatting πβπ
Will update you where my whereabouts next week
Much love

Overwhelmed by the amount of people coming to have a chat ππ
One amazing person is Mahlah, who was happy to share her amazing story π
Since Mahlah saw me, she had a temp job but was then off sick for a year with her asleep apnea diagnosis and finding out that she is autistic through doing a survey on the autism national website. She has sensory processing disorder so struggles with types of materials, noises and foods. She has been learning how she can cope by having time out sessions as and when she needs them and finding the love for building lego again.
It was alot for Mahlah to take in hearing about her news so she did some research on autism. Since diagnosis she's been proactive, shes completed an online courses on autism and on mental health in children and young people.
After doing these courses she understood where her passion lies in a career in main schools to help those who are like herself, creating awareness so that young people understand what ADHD and Autism are.
Just to top it offππ she's finished a course on counselling and still wants to do other courses before doing her level 3s, then going to college for her teaching assistant degree!
Incredible story! Please show some support for Mahlah for taking the time to chat to me and celebrating Autism ππ
Great to be backand thank you , see you next Sunday at the quarry.
Much love
Tom π
