where postural alignment is encouraged, recruiting the correct muscles, to correct any imbalances within the individual. Clinical Pilates,
I get hands on gently no forcing, to encourage correct alignment. The client can then feel how it should feel, thus the body learns to hold itself in alignment. Muscles and bones are balanced reducing effort and reducing aches & pains. Upright & Active
0 is part seated & standing, mainly late 60's + or added health issues eg. Stroke, other disabilities, joint replacement etc . The participants keep all joints lubricated, muscles lengthened,& strengthened extend the spine, work on shoulder & pelvic stability, strengthen pelvic floor muscles, correct seated to standing, into balance and stability exercises to prevent trips & falls. When confident enough (everybody has their own time scale) to get onto the floor in order to learn how to safely get up in case of a fall. Finish with a cuppa & a natter. Specialist training in pain relief using equipment such as Foam rollers, spiky balls therapy bands & small Pilates balls.
