ULTRA #3 completed with Roadrunner jr πŸ₯° second one this year πŸ’ͺ
Shrewsbury 50k Ultra starts in Church Stretton, up and down the mighty Burway β›°οΈβ›°οΈπŸ”οΈ and finishes in the Quarry !
Was tough but we both really enjoyed it, the weather was up and down like the course πŸ˜…
blustery and damp at the start followed by warm sunshine, then rain and wind and more sunshine πŸ™„
We planned our pace strategy and fuel almost to perfection and completed the 50k+ course in 6h 20’ , ten minutes faster than our previous Ultra 😎
Big thanks to Run The Distance for organising and providing regular Checkpoints with lovely goodies to keep us going πŸ™

Lovely event in a park , four super flat loops and everyone was amazing as you would expect from the parkrun community πŸ₯°
Legs felt strong with one week to go till Ultra so I pushed a little just to test my speed . I would have liked to have gone under 21 minutes but unfortunately I had to stop on km 2 to tie my shoe lace πŸ™„ I was sensible enough after that not to overdo it and risk an injury so close to my big race πŸ™Œ

My second one this week, both 8 miles ish with lots of tricky and varied terrain to negotiate (from sand to mud to stones to pebbles to grass to soft moss to gravel)
Was tough, was hot, fell over once , nearly rolled my ankle twice but loved every minute of it πŸ₯°
What an amazing and invaluable experience πŸ™Œ

Happy Global Running Day πŸ₯³πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈβ€βž‘οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈβ€βž‘οΈ
Last Saturday it was the 15th anniversary of my first ever run !!
30500 km ( 19000 miles) later I’m still at it , still loving it πŸ₯°
That 4.2 km run from Bryuncrug to Tywyn on the 30th of May 2011 changed my life , it was a spark that lit up a fire that is still raging inside πŸ”₯
Had lots of adventures and made many amazing memories and lots of friends πŸ₯°

PS : To celebrate I just entered second Ultra of the year πŸ˜…
