3 bins not being all emptied regularly - Viewing a problem 13/06/2026

Thank you to the volunteers who emptied all the bins at the Village Hall this morning. Hopefully the Shropshire Council service for emptying public bins will be restored soon. We are chasing them - see https://improvingyourroads.shropshire.gov.uk/report/9586385
One issue was that we found a large amount of waste that could be recycled rather than put in the general waste, so if you have a empty can or plastic bottle please do recycle in the purple top bin in the Village Hall carpark or at home.

Huge thanks to everyone who has taken part in this years Scarecrow Trail. Wonky Bob is delighted !

Now that the Scarecrows are all out, it's time for you to visit them and vote for your favourite. You can pick up a trail map / voting sheet at Londis and The C**k Inn for £1. All proceeds will go towards supporting Worthen Village Hall & Recreation Ground.

Please return your voting slips back to Londis or the C**k Inn by Sunday 5th July. The votes will be counted during July with the winner receiving the coveted Wonky Bob Trophy.

Wonky Bob would also like to say a big thank you to our supporters this year: Daryl and his team at Castle Country Club, Helen and Andrew at The Tack Room in Worthen, and Bev and Barry at Hampton Hayes Farm. Your support is very much appreciated.
