Last weekend was when 14 club members carried out some maintenance on our hut, Clwt y Bel, which is near Deiniolen. One job was to replace some rusty bolts on the common room roof…….and Chris spent a whole day ‘frying’ in the best weather day of the year so far. Maintenance is only carried out on the Saturday so on Sunday some took advantage of the weather to head for Atlantic slabs and some to Ogwen.

11 0f us enjoyed a great weekend ( January 24th/25th) based in the excellent MAM hut in Coniston. Saturday was dry all day and even ended with sunshine. The Old man and Wetherlam got ticked off although it was a bit cold and breezy on the summit. Various mine workings were explored and a Burns supper on the Saturday night gave a good end to the day . Sunday's forecast was likely to be wetter by lunchtime so the lower lump of Holme Fell was investigated. Then followed a look at Hodge Close quarry...and NO, no-one in our Club would be up to leading Wicked Willie E5.
