๐ Itโs not all about the Reformer, there are plenty of other PROPS we can use to keep you motivated, challenged and supported in class! ๐ค
โญ๏ธ We can use the circle to aid stability at the shoulder, or add challenge for the hipsโฆ
๐ Rollers can help to open up the front of the body, supporting spinal extension and strengthening the posterior chainโฆ
๐ฅ Balls can be used to challenge core stability, or support finding good alignment at the knee and ankleโฆ
๐ And we love a flex band for their versatility - aiding mobility at the hip and shoulder, and adding resistance to some familiar favourites!
Thatโs not to mention the blocks, pads and padded mats we can use to get you comfortable ๐ฅฐ

๐ LOVE IT when the weather forecast is pessimistic and we get to enjoy an unexpectedly cool, breezy and DRY trot after class!
We chatted Mandarin, Italian lakes and half marathon training plans on todayโs Run & Stretch - surprisingly no mention of food! (Written whilst munching on .coffee.van tiffin ๐)
Another lovely morning of Pilates and running in this beautiful spot with some excellent company ๐

๐ค Is it normal thatโฆ? Hereโs a few thoughts prompted by some recent conversations that highlighted things we accept when possibly we donโt have toโฆ ๐
Our Running & the Pelvic Floor workshop with Carrie last year was enlightening and positive - we can strengthen and improve function of ANY part of our body if we put our mind to it! And it once again highlighted the benefits of practicing Pilates to do just that for our pelvic floors ๐ฅฐ
I can also highly recommend (and do so frequently - thereโs a copy in the studio) book Strong Foundations - a practical, accessible and empowering read about how we can improve our pelvic health at any age.๐ช
After planning/reading both of the above we introduced an optional pelvic health questionnaire for anyone attending a Runlates class or session, so we can support you better if you need it ๐
And if you need specialist guidance or advice weโre happy to work with your health professional to support your rehab journey as appropriate.

Chatting triathlons, Nordic walking, second-edition novel-launches and the Atlas Mountains all in the space of a few hours!

๐คฉ Congratulations to our latest Reformer Pilates Foundations course graduates! ๐
Through 6 weeks of classes with .cserhati and they fully explored the key principles that underpin the Pilates method, and discovered what the Reformer has to offer! (Making some new friends along the way too ๐ค)
