What a fabulous morning we have had at the Village Church Farm Museum Pinch of Lincolnshire day.

They had great stalls, a lovely gift shop, beautiful cakes in the cafe, friendly staff and volunteers and great entertainment.

We looked at all the old farming equipment, Holly House, the steam engines and the war memorabilia. The residents enjoyed reminiscing about the items they recognised from their grandparents era.

Today we have continued making our autumn wreaths and had a good laugh whilst we were doing it.

Today we have made a start on decorating the home in autumnal colours ready for our Harvest festival on Sunday 4th Oct.

We began making wreaths with crafting materials very kindly donated to the home. Thanks again it is really appreciated.

Another resident got to go out and grab some fish and chips with our old director who she remains close friends with.

Today the staff and residents have gone back to school!

What a fantastic day we have had reminiscing about our school days especially the mischief we used to get up to 🤣

Some of our residents have worked in education.

The highlight of our day was a visit from Mike a volunteer from The Village Church Farm. He gave the Residents a talk about the history of the museum. We also had an interactive session where historical items were handed around for Residents to look at and feel. Thank you very much for visiting us.

This morning we played the old sayings quiz which is always very popular and brings back memories.

This afternoon we have done more preparation for back to school day tomorrow and played several games of bingo.

Syne hills took on the Bike in Bloom project to decorate a bike to line the route for the Lloyds Tour of Britain. What an amazing experience it has been for us all. It started with spray painting an old bike kindly donated by a member of staff. Then buying all the materials, choosing flowers and planting them in baskets. Everyone wanted to be involved even if it was helping to sweep up after indoor gardening.

Dee Dee Dee from Varietcup Community Centre kindly allowed us to display it in Lumley Rd.

One lucky Resident was able to go down to Varietcup to represent our home and watch the cyclists. We couldn't resist making a proper trip of it .We enjoyed ice cream while watching the entertainment at the seafront and went to visit some of the landmarks. It brought back many very happy memories for our residents who have lived in ingoldmells and Skegness since she was a little girl.
