Everytime I come here I literally remember who I am. And I donât say that lightly. I shared with a friend here the other day that it can be incredibly lonely at times being a visionary person. Somebody who sees the gap in where we are and where we need to get to and creates that⌠because usually it means the vision youâre craving so much for yourself doesnât yet exist⌠and so it takes stepping up and being one of the first each and every time to make that change. It can be overwhelming and isolating at times, if youâre not surrounded by similar-minded people (luckily I am more and more these days!!).
So when I come to these mountains each year to host my Come Home To Self Yoga & Meditation Retreat itâs also a homecoming for me too.
To be around my House Of Light family, brothers and sisters here, gives me the nourishment and holding that I need to continue to hold and nourish others.
Being here gives me the pep back in my step that I carry on for months after, that makes me trust that the community vision and model in the well-being and healing space is possible. And to be supported by people whoâve done it - whoâve designed a life for themselves where freedom is at the heart of everything they do.. who greet one another with a hug that embraces you for hours after⌠who live and breathe their dharma and who run business in the way Iâve always had on my heart it should be done. Itâs powerful. It reminds me that while itâs definitely tougher in England (endless bureaucracy, red tape around everything, people still very contracted and boxed in), that there is a way to create a new world right where our feet are and to keep on keeping on being the change we want to see.

Said with love, and a little bit of âget your head out your a*sâ âĽď¸
⨠Get bloody good at what you do. Get clear about what you know and honest about what you donât know and work from that, every single day.
⨠Know that showing up takes repetition and dedication that is sometimes boring, not always shiny new and glossy. Anyone can create something new and sell it out with good marketing and money. But return students / clients? Thatâs in the continuing to show up. The slow build. The ongoing relationship building.

Oh how we LAUGHED in class this morning - proper belly laughing, the type that rips through a room and whips every single person off their feet. The kind that you get to the end of and feel like youâve just released years worth of tension.
Interestingly we were working with Ganesha⌠the class started with mantra chanting. People were tired - lots of bad nightsâ sleep and a little unsettled. We asked Ganesha to help us to get out of our own way⌠and he did!
Perhaps it was the gripping.
The self-consciousness.
The trying.
The need to hold it all together.
And underneath all of that was Änanda - joy - and lightness that wanted to be remembered and expressed.
We asked Ganesha to clear the path, and for a few beautiful minutes, perhaps we really did get out of our own way.
You see, Ganesha has a great round belly and his vehicle and companion is often depicted as a scurrying, hurried, tiny mouse. His very image holds a kind of divine absurdity. A reminder that wisdom doesnât always have to be serious. That the sacred can be playful. That awakening doesnât always arrive quietly with our eyes closed and our hands in prayer.
Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha
Iâm still chuckling now - thank you to the wonderful people who come to class each week! You brighten my days!

I call this one âsh*t Tuesdayâ.
(A lil excerpt from my actual journal on Tuesday)

May your head soften enough to hear your heart.
May your heart be steady enough to trust what it knows.
May thought and feeling meet somewhere in the middle,
and may you move from that place.
With clarity.
With courage.
With love.
