Skipton Badminton Club

Hope everyones prepared for Christmas and not yet burnt out with the organising.
Tuesday 23rd December is our last club night until 6th January.
No doubt players will be ready to get back to some exercise after feasting over Christmas.
Whatever your plans are over the holidays i hope you have a wonderful time and best wishes for a healthy and Happy New Year.

Well its that time of the year. The start of match play season. For 25/26 season we will be fielding a number of teams in the Craven League and the Bradford League.

Please bear in mind that if matches are being played courts will be limited for Tuesdays club nights. We will however endeavour to ensure everyone gets plenty of playing time.

Craven League presentation night last Friday was a lovely evening at Herriots Hotel at Skipton.
The evening was well attended by Skipton members but sadly no trophys this year.
Its all to play for next year so onwards and upwards Skipton.
Club night continues throughout summer for those who wish to play.
Enjoy the summer whatever your plans.

I cant believe we are into February already and only a couple of months away from the end of the season for competitive play. Some great badminton being played so hopefully a place high up in the table for some of our teams.
Its been good to welcome some new players over the last few weeks and i hope they are finding Skipton BC a friendly and welcoming place.

Sadly the weather is turning very autumnal and the kids are going back to school. The competitive season starts this month so good luck to all players in the teams.
We have welcomed many new faces over summer and its hoped that they will continue playing at Skipton. The pay as you play which is in place over summer has now ended and membership has commenced. There are a number of ways this can be paid so please speak to someone on club night or message me.
I hope everyone is enjoying playing and will take out membership.

It's almost September which is the start of our competitive season. Our six teams will be looking forward to some positive results in both the Craven League and the Bradford League.
Many of our players who choose not to be in a team will continue to play socially on Tuesday evenings.
We welcome new players please message if you need further information.

I have not been able to get to club night in ages due to personal issues, so it was great to get down and play on Tuesday night. It was great to meet newer players who I've only communicated with in messenger. Nice to put faces to names. It was great to hear how much you are all enjoying playing.
We always welcome new members so please feel free to message if you are interested in playing and need information.

Skipton mens A team being presented with their winners trophy at the league presentation evening. We'll done guys. Herriots put on some excellent food. Our league president Peter Macro presented the awards. Linda Wilkinson from Craven Badminton club provided entertainment with quizes with her willing assistant yours truly. The raffle provided some laughter and a good deal of shouts of "fix". It was a good night and some well deserved awards.

Well here we are again end of the season. Mixed results across the teams but congratulations to everyone who participated for giving some fantastic performances.

It's now the start of the summer season and players who wish to can continue to play on Tuesday nights on a pay as you play basis.

As always we continue to welcome new players both male and female.

Can I remind our players of the annual league presentation evening on 7th June, could anyone wanting a ticket please contact Gary before 20th May. It's a lovely evening and it's nice to have a chance to socialise both with club members and those we only see on the other side of the net.

Hi everyone we are getting close to the end of the season. Mixed results to date but a chance of a good finishing place in the league table for at least one of our mens teams.

First season for some of our new lady players in the composite team. Its been good to see them growing in confidence and improving their game. Captained by the lovely Vikki who will hopefully guide her team into next season.

Please members put a date in your diary of 7th June as this is our league presentation night at Herriots at Skipton. I hope as many of you as possible can attend its a great night lovely food lots of fun and a good opportunity to socialise with other clubs, off the court.
