Airedale Bloodhounds - Public Page
See 'Our Story' for more info.
The Airedale Bloodhounds hunt the "clean boot" meaning that they hunt the natural scent of a human, in our case a cross country runner who is called "the quarry".

Thank you to all who joined us yesterday for a fantastic few hours up on Threshfield Moor. The hounds flew on the first line, you could throw a blanket over them and they were foot perfect. The young hounds are still learning but it's early days and we look forward to seeing them develop over the season.

A few more from today including Zetland who decided to cool off after the 3rd line, leading character Rufus and a good view into Wharfedale.

Nice to have a bit of scent today and more music. Seems the same around the country. Looking forward to getting up into the hills. Hope to make meets more generally available through the group when we have fully tested the protocol.

Something a little more expansive for the bloodhounds on Sunday. The warm afternoon meant scent was poor but the hounds seem to be settling to the new quarry and getting more tuned in after each outing. Thanks for the photos Helen.

Another little training session with the bloodhounds this evening. It looks like summer has returned 20+ degrees, lovely evening but very poor scent. The hounds eventually cottoned on and flew on the final line. Looking forward to to the cooler weather and hunting proper!
A pre-season training exercise for the bloodhounds - Zetland, Rufus, Dilbert, Danish and finally Zorro! The hounds hunted our new quarry extremely well given the warm conditions. We hope to have one more warm up before hunting begins so if you would like to assist with quarrying please get in touch.
