When you bring your child along to rugby, you are trusting us with something far more important than teaching them how to pass, tackle or score a try.

You are trusting us with their safety and wellbeing.

That is a responsibility we take seriously at Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors.

Behind every Sunday morning session is a team of volunteers working to create a safe, supportive environment where children can enjoy rugby with confidence.

🔴 Our coaches working with children are appropriately DBS checked

⚫ We have dedicated safeguarding support within the club

🔴 Coaches undertake relevant training and development

⚫ HEADCASE concussion awareness and player welfare form an important part of how we approach the game

🔴 Appropriate first aid arrangements and procedures are in place

⚫ Training and matches follow the relevant England Rugby age grade guidance

And perhaps just as importantly, we work hard to create a culture where children feel welcome, included, respected and able to speak up.

Rugby is a contact sport, and we can never remove every risk. What we can do is make sure it is coached responsibly, that welfare comes before winning and that the people looking after our young players understand the responsibility that comes with it.

Because we are not simply developing rugby players.

We are looking after somebody’s child. ❤️🖤
