End of Season Awards Evening

Last night we held our end of season awards evening alongside Sleaford Town Rangers Ladies . A massive thank you to everyone who attended and to club chair Ráchël for organising the evening and to Sleaford Sports Association for hosting us.

Final Lincolnshire Football League Over 35s South Division game of the season saw us come away with an 8-1 win against Sleaford United FC Over 35s.
A hat-trick from Jamie Shaw and goals from Jimmy Blunden, Gaz Doran, Neil Sayce, Stu Barnshaw and Birthday boy Tim Corby.
Man of the match goes to birthday boy Tim Corby for his solid performance at the back.

Unfortunately due to our opposition being unable to raise a team for our scheduled upcoming fixture. The game on Friday night is cancelled.

We now look towards our final league game of the season in two weeks time 💚

Unlucky result for us tonight as we faced Greenbank FC Veterans.

The game started with us defending everything that they threw at us for the first 15 minutes. When we did eventually manage to get upfield we won a free kick 30 yards out, which Gaz Doran delivered into the box. After their their Goalkeeper did his best juggler impression Tim Corby followed up for the easy tap in!
Greenbank pulled a goal back several minutes later after some scrappy defending and that saw us go into the break all square.

The second half started pretty much the same as the first half. We defended everything that was thrown at us before we again managed to press up the pitch. Shane Hughes played a ball through to Jamie Shaw who timed his run and placed it perfectly past the keeper. Unfortunately tiredness (age) started to creep into our players and having limited players to bring on, we tried to defend everything as best as we could. Greenbank managed to score 2 more goals to put the game to bed.

A great team effort from everyone who played. Tonight’s MoTM goes to Goalkeeper Martin Badley who made some great stops and did a great job between the sticks.
