As most of you already know, I’ve now handed the shop over to the very capable hands of Joe, who will be taking the business forward under its new name, Sleaford Spokes

Joe has launched a new page, so I’d be incredibly grateful if you could head over, give it a follow, and help give him the warm and friendly Sleaford welcome that our community is known for.

I’d like to thank everyone for your support over the years, and I know Joe is looking forward to meeting both familiar faces and new customers alike as he begins this exciting new chapter.

Sleaford Spokes Welcome to Sleaford Spokes. We are a friendly bicycle shop and repair service serving Sleaford and the surrounding towns and villages in Lincolnshire.

Well… that’s it — my last day at Big Dan’s Bikes 🚲

Three years, countless cups of coffee, a fair few stubborn bolts, and more punctures than I care to remember… what a ride it’s been.

Massive thanks to my friends and family for the support and to my suppliers for keeping the wheels turning. Most importantly, thank you to all my customers — whether you came in for a puncture repair or just a brew and chat, you’ve all kept this place going and made it what it is.

I’m handing things over to Joe, who’s been in the bike game for over 20 years — so you’re in safe hands. Keep an eye out over the next month or so for updates and changes.

As for me… I’m off on my next adventure — Belgium 🇧🇪
Apparently they have good beer and even better cycling, so it felt rude not to.

Big Dans Bikes is officially sold — and the great news is the shop will be staying open as a bike shop!

The new owner will take over on 01 June 2026, with more details coming soon. Until then, it’s business as usual: the shop is open, repairs are still being booked in, and we’ve just had a fresh delivery of new bikes ready to view 🚲

The clearance sale has now ended.

🚨 BIG DANS UPDATE 🚨

I was due to hand over the shop yesterday, but due to being letdown from the buyer, the shop is back on the market.

There are a couple of interested parties, so I’m still hopeful a buyer will be found. In the meantime, the business is officially back up for sale.

As time is tight, I’ll also be running a closing down sale starting Tuesday 7th April through to the end of the month — all stock must go!

I’ll be posting a full list of discounted bikes over the next few days, so keep an eye out for some great deals.

It’s a fantastic business and this isn’t an easy decision — I’m only selling due to a move abroad.

Big Dan’s Bikes is open and trading until 31 March 2026, and I’m actively looking for someone to take over the shop.

This is a ready-to-go bike shop in the heart of Sleaford, with an established customer base and strong local support. It would be a real shame for the town to lose its only bike shop, and this is a great opportunity for the right person.

⚠️ Planned short closures due to work commitments elsewhere ⛷️:
• 18–31 January
• 7–14 February
• 6–14 March

If the business hasn’t been sold by the time I move out, there will be a closing down sale (dates to be confirmed).

• No business experience
• No retail experience
• Very limited bike-repair experience

All I had was an idea, commitment, and focus — and the shop has grown from there. With the systems already in place, this business is far easier to step into than start from scratch.
