Last week, we concluded the Tri-Nations Tournament with a memorable awards evening.

It was an honour to see the Team of the Tournament announced and a proud moment as Cameron Handsford of RNZAF Rugby League was named Most Valuable Player! A well-earned recognition for his exceptional performance.

The night gave us a chance to celebrate, share gifts of gratitude, and embrace the incredible spirit and heritage of each nation involved.

Yesterday marked a powerful moment on tour as all three teams united to visit the National Memorial Arboretum.

A time to reflect, honour, and remember 🌹

The day began with a moving introduction to the Arboretum, its Chapel, and over 400 memorials across the grounds. A short, heartfelt service was led by team captains, concluding with a wreath laid in memory of our fallen.

A special tribute was made to RAF Rugby League legend SAC(T) Scott Stevenson, whose name now stands proudly on the memorial wall. Scott, a gifted full-back, represented both the RAF and UK Armed Forces Rugby League.

In the afternoon, we joined guided tours of the Arboretum’s memorials.

Huge thanks to the Arboretum team for their warmth, and to the Royal British Legion for making this day of remembrance and reflection possible 🩵

An unforgettable moment as the RNZAF Chief of Air Force proudly presented our jerseys in the sheds ahead of kick-off.

We started off with a fierce Haka to set the tone against the RAAF. 💥🇳🇿

It was a tough physical game with some big hits. Despite our best efforts, the better team got the result on the day.

But it’s not over yet... next up: RNZAF vs RAF on Saturday 19 July!
