After one of the most topsy-turvy matches in LMS England Champs history and a crazy finish, Aylesbury Outlawz have been crowned the 2022 England Champions. Commiserations to Slough Super Spartans who were worthy finalists and displayed superb sportsmanship throughout.

With that, the LMS England season comes to a close for 2022. Thank you to all 1000+ teams who took part in the season, we’ll see you next year!

Reading Division 2

💪🏏🏆🍻 Congratulations to Elmhurst Echidnas who win the Reading Division 2 title for the 2nd year running 🍻🏆🏏💪

Needing a draw or better this evening against 2nd placed Elite Tutors, Echidnas were helped by mother nature and won the title without a ball being bowled.

So the only solution was to shelter from the rain and celebrate down the pub with a beer or two.

Well done Elmhurst, you've come a long way since those first 10 defeats a few years back, Congratulations again 🏆🏏💪🍻

Reading Division 1

Congratulations to Berkshire Royals who pick up the Reading Division 1 title this season 💪🏆🏏

Winning 13 of their 15 league games they fully deserved the trophy this season and they had a thrilling match in the regional finals on Sunday, narrowly losing to last year's champions in the quarter final.

Expect to see more of these guys in 2023. 💪🏆🏏

A fabulous day at Burnham saw some excellent cricket all round with some fabulous highlights.

Game of the day was between Anderson Estates and Berkshire Royals, who gave last year's champions a fright in their quarter final.

Player of the day is Yaqoot Rafiq Super Spartans) who in two innings, remained not out and smashed 102* in 34 balls.

Play of the day goes to Rahim Akhtar (Super Spartans) whose full length diving catch and double play stopped Reading Stallions dead in their tracks.

Congratulations to Reading Stallions and Outlaws who both qualified for the Regional Finals this Sunday by beating Slough Warriors and Gujjars CC respectively. Ahsan Hasan again took motm for Stallions with 44 & 2/21, while a Girish Kumar (53*) batting masterclass saw Outlaws home with ease.

Quarter Finals

On pitch 1 yesterday evening, Slough Warriors 174/1 (18) beat Maidenhead Tiger 94/8 (17.3) by 80 runs. Half centuries for Warriors Nadeem Syed 52*, Najib Malik 50* & Arslan Butt 52* and their skipper, Raghav Sharma led the way with the ball, taking 3/13.

On pitch 2, a much closer finish between Reading Stallions 147/4 (16) who beat Fearing Forties 136/8 (16) with a last ball home run by Umar Khalid. Stallions Ahsan Hasan took motm with 49 & 2/20.

Stallions will now face off against Warriors on Wednesday for a place in the Regional Finals this Sunday.

Watford League

Frogmore had a convincing win over Regals tonight to secure their place in the playoffs.

Choosing to bat first, Frogmore lost two early wickets until the partnership between Tom Woods and Jemille Al-Darraji led them towards their final score of 141/4.

Vivan Verma opened the batting for Regals, scoring an impressive 56 off 40 and stayed at the crease for the full 16 overs, but the bowling attack led by Felipe Melo with 2 wickets was enough to take the win for Frogmore.

Frogmore won by 37 runs

Slough Premier League

Two games this evening at Burnham CC.

On pitch 1, a top of the table clash saw Slough Super Spartans 130/6 edge out Anderson Estates 129/7 by 2 wickets. Shahbaz Butt held Anderson's innings together with a fine 75* and Nabeel Janed made a solid 53* for Super Spartans as they edge closer to the title.

On pitch 2, Strictly Family 146/6 beat Reading Toasters 140/6 by 6 runs which ends Toasters playoff hopes. No half centuries here, but top scorers were Uzair Majid 48* for Strictly and Rizwan Ahmed 47 for Toasters.

🏆🏏💪 Congratulations to Goodwill CC who tonight won Slough Division 1 with a 7 wicket win over title contenders Outlaws at Lascelles Park.

Fielding first, Goodwill restricted Outlaws to 113/8, two wickets apiece for Goodwill's Hassan Arshad, Shahbaz Nawaz & Salman Abbasi. In reply Goodwill knocked off the runs in 12 overs with Adil Nawaz making an unbeaten 53*

On Tuesday, Anderson Estates 179/4 go back to the top of the table with a 16 run win over Slough Warriors 161/5. Half centuries here for Anderson's Sufian Munir 50* and Warrior's Nadeem Syed 50*

Yesterday, Strictly Family 144/2 beat Move Estates 140/8 by 6 wickets. Strictlys Samiulah Sajid took 3/15 & Fahim Qureshi made 51* as they eased home.

Three games to catch up on in Division 1 this week as the league title is still to be decided, with 4 teams still in contention.

We start with Slough Spartans 82/1 who had a 7 wicket win over Slough Rockers 81/8. Mustafa Akhtar taking 3/18 for Spartans.

Outlaws 153/3 stay 2nd with a 5 wicket win over X-Men 149/7. Naveed Akram.ade 62* for X-Men while Abhishek Mankar made 50* for Outlaws.

And finally KP Lions 200/3 beat league leaders Goodwill CC 199/7 by 1 run. Rajiv Gupta 50* & Saad Jaffary 50* with half centuries for KP Lions while Salman Abbasi made 62 for Goodwill.

Reading Division 1

Two games this week wrapped up division 1 in Reading.

On Monday, Reading Falcons 178/0 beat Reading Lions 177/3 by 8 wickets. Fifties here for Lions Satish Kothapalli 50* & Keerthi Prakash 50* and Falcon's Sohail Masood 50*, Wasi Jee 50* & Abdul Latif 51*

Yesterday, Berkshire Royals 135/0 secured the league title with an 8 wicket win over RRR 133/3. Hassan Raza 53* & Shukry Shakoor 51* with half centuries for the Royals as they book their place at the Regional Finals on 11th September.

Three games to catch up on in Division 2, starting with Elmhurst Echidnas 153/5 who beat Inept Old Geezers 151/5 by 3 wickets to stay top. No half centuries here.

Yesterday, Outlaws B 228/4 beat PWC South East 184/7 by 44 runs. Half centuries for Outlaws Srinivas Yalla 53* & Guna Bala 53*. Noor Dangra made a terrific 98* in reply for PWC.

And finally this evening, Winnersh Warriors 149/6 kept up their title hopes with a 21 run win over Reading Griffins 128/6. Raj Govindan with 56* for Winnersh and Noor Dangra 52* for Griffins.

Watford Midweek League –

Frogmore CC bounced back from their disappointing defeat against BUTTSman with a dominating victory over Cricket Fanatics on a hot Wednesday evening, to spice up the race for the play-offs.

After electing to bat, Frogmore got off to a slow but steady start, showing respect to some tight bowling by the opening pair. However, they picked up the pace throughout the innings, while Fanatics were not at their best in the field – there were one or two dropped catches, a few misfields as well as some overthrows. Shehan Gafoor scored 50* in 36 but the highlight of the innings was Nasar Khan’s brilliant hitting at the death, scoring 34 in just 12 deliveries with some cracking shots as Frogmore finished on 163-2 from 18 overs.

Cricket Fanatics were never in the chase, and it was the inspirational Felipe Melo (pictured) who was key in the field – being involved in all 5 wickets. Having come to UK for the summer from Brazil – a country not known for its cricketing heritage or resources, he has been a regular for Frogmore throughout the season. He took the catch that removed one of Fanatics’ openers, and took 4 wickets himself as Fanatics ended on 129-5. While the result was done and dusted, there was still plenty to play for right until the very end, as Frogmore knew they needed to restrict Fanatics to less than 131 for a bonus point. He bowled the final over of the match, and conceded only 1 run as well as taking 2 wickets as Frogmore picked up maximum points. Felipe was named Player of the Match for his superb figures of 4-17-4!

Watford Midweek League -

A low scoring thriller between Frogmore CC and BUTTSman on Tuesday saw BUTTSman pip the defending champions by 17 runs in a game that had it all. On a tricky pitch, BUTTSman posted a total of 129-7 with Shaoud Butt top scoring with 55 off 43.

Chasing 130 was never going to be easy for Frogmore on a pitch that was doing plenty and they lost an early wicket, with Shaoud Butt, having earlier top scored with the bat, taking a good catch at long on. Wickets continued to tumble but a partnership between skipper Tom Woods (pictured) and Oliver Andrews, who scored 32 and 28 respectively appeared to have put Frogmore back on track, and they were ahead of the run rate despite being 4 wickets down.

However, the partnership was broken by Shaoud Butt (pictured) to make things interesting, with Shaoud finishing with fantastic figures of 4-20-3. The killer blow was sealed not too long after, with Andrews perishing to a good pressure catch at long off by, you guessed it, Shaoud Butt, and the number 7 batter also dismissed via a ‘double play’, leaving the last batter stranded. He was unable to pull it off by himself, and was run out off the final ball of the 19th over, as Frogmore were bowled out for 112, a result they may well look back on with regret should they miss out on the play-offs.
