Snetterton. The penultimate round. What a weekend🏆

After pole in qualifying we threw a fresh set of tyres in for Race 1 on Saturday. Running a stock engine it's always important to get a good start at Snetterton - managed the hole shot into turn 1 and just focused on stringing some consistent laps together. We had very little track time on Friday due to the weather so that was the plan. Crossed the line P1 with a 5.6 second gap.

And with that - we secured the Bemsee Helmet City.co.uk Ltd MRO Supersport 600 Championship 🥳

Unbelievable really, considering where we were with the Triumph when I first rode it last year. It's been challenging at times with the setup this season but Perry Leask at Leask Racing - Precision Motorcycle Suspension has been an absolute godsend in getting the bike to where it is now. Huge thank you to him🙏

Race 2 on Sunday - really gutted for my pal and main rival Sam Hirst Racing who unfortunately tucked the front going into turn 1. But Henry Ross sure did give me a run for my money for the rest of the race - it’s great to see him back after his wrist surgery, he's getting back to his old self on a proper bike! He came past in the early laps and we battled right to the finish line. He kept me honest all the way. Crossed the line P1 - really enjoyed that one 🏁

Race 3 was a pretty strange one. Felt better on the bike overall but the grip levels had dropped off a lot which made for a really odd sensation. Just rode to a comfortable limit, didn't want to push my luck too much, and thankfully crossed the line P1. A second slower than Race 2 but I'll take it 🙌

I want to specifically thank the group of people who all chipped in for an extra set of tyres this weekend - you know who you are and I genuinely cannot thank you enough. Having a fresh set for qualifying really did make a big difference 🙏

James at J B Motorcycles - not only has he been a solid support and a brilliant friend throughout the entire season, but he's been kind enough to supply us with a van for the remainder of the season too.

P1 in qualifying 🏁

Really pleased, built into a rhythm and just kept chipping away on improving the time as we only managed about 8 laps yesterday due to rain.

Not long till the race, make sure you tune in!

Cadwell Park Race Report 🏁 3 races, 3 wins!

Race 1 - We led from lights out. Tried to get my head down and into a rhythm straight away, hopefully building a gap I could maintain. Luckily for me, Kyle and Sam got into a bit of a scrap over the first few laps which let me pull a small gap. After a few laps I had a look behind, saw I had some time in hand, and let the pace off slightly to try and save the tyre for race 2 🏁

Race 2 - My favourite race of the weekend. Got the initial jump off the line and led the first lap before Kyle Jenkins came past - this turned into a proper game of cat and mouse. Kyle’s on a 765 and mine’s a 675 but the bikes are pretty evenly matched. We swapped the lead a few times as we both tried to work out where each of us was stronger around the track. I sat in behind and waited for the last few laps to make a move, which came at the Gooseneck. Once past, I tried to make a break - Kyle came back down the inside into Park but went in a bit too hot and couldn’t pull it down to the apex, so I turned back underneath on the exit. Getting to the bottom of the Mountain he ran into lapped traffic - I got past one rider, got a bike between us, then past a few more before the line to take P1. Gutted it didn’t go right down to the wire but it could have gone either way, to be fair. Top riding from Kyle - a really enjoyable race throughout 👊

Race 3 - Same set of tyres from Race 1, so I was hoping the rear would hang in for the race distance. Plan was to push from the start and see what we could do with the grip available. Got a good start, led into turn 1, and pushed on straight away. From about lap 2 the rear started spinning a lot on first touch of throttle, so I had to stay on line and not override the bike. After a few laps I checked over my shoulder and had about a second in hand. The bike was moving around a lot on the rear but felt good, so I kept the pace up and brought it home in P1 for the hat-trick! Really happy with that 🏆

Was also under the lap record for pretty much the whole race, on an old tyre! Even after all these years racing different bikes in different classes, it shows there’s always room for improvement - and how a small change in approach can really change the outcome.
