Happy Monday 🍂

Whilst I was at work this morning I realised it was November and I should be doing a walking/steps challenge and I completely forgot 😂🫠

The last 2 months have been uber busy with starting a new job, choreographing Panto, decorating my house and just general life so my mind has been elsewhere.

I have therefore decided that I will not be doing a steps challenge this month, but of course I will be back with one in January 👣

It is undecided whether I will do something for December so we will see 👀 but my usual bi monthly steps/distance challenges will be back in January 🫶

Getting back into training after a holiday or time off can be tough!

Remember it’s important to give yourself grace and be kind to yourself, however it is also important just to go for it and not over think it. That first training session is never fun, always hard and it’s always the one you don’t want to do 😂 but I promise you even a half arsed attempt will make you feel better than if you don’t do it at all!

The quicker you get back to it, the easier it will be 🩷

Even if the first step is a 10 minute walk outside, as Nike would say just do it 💪🏻

Let’s talk about training on holiday….

Should you take your gym stuff and train whilst you’re on holiday? 🏝️

My answer is always the same, do what makes you happy. If you will feel better training on holiday 100% do it, however holidays are what it says on the tin, and sometimes a break is what we need.

Most people are on holiday for 10-14 nights max and not following your fitness routine during this time is okay, you’re allowed a break and to take some time off 💪🏻 also on holiday there is the opportunity to often swim/walk/hike more than we would in your daily routine at home, so as long as you’re moving you won’t lose loads of fitness during this time anyway 🩷

Enjoy your holiday, don’t put loads of pressure on yourself to train, but equally if it will make you feel better, 100% go for it!!

Controversial opinion:

I don’t mind if my clients are purely training to “look good”

In my opinion it doesn’t matter if you’re motivation comes from a health perspective of making your insides happy, a “I want to feel better” perspective or a “I want to look better” perspective, the reality is whichever one motivates you is a winner because it gets you moving 💪🏻

There’s a lot of focus around exercising because it’s good for us rather than how it makes us look, but in my opinion you can want to exercise and achieve BOTH things.

This is because exercise does both things!!!

So don’t feel guilty for wanting to train to look good this summer, because whilst you’re exercising to just “look good”, you’re also improving bone health, heart health and your insides are becoming happier too 🩷
