***IMPORTANT - ECC 150 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION***

Dear All,

2026 marks the 150th anniversary of our fantastic club, and we are delighted to be celebrating this remarkable milestone over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

***Saturday 29th August***

We are thrilled to welcome back The One Love Band to Watery Lane, performing from 8:00pm. The bar will be open throughout the day and into the evening, and delicious street food will be available from Gourmet Gecko.

***Sunday 30th August***

We have a packed day of celebrations planned, beginning at 10:00am with a Mums & Dads vs Lads & Lasses match. Further details will be provided by Mark Dixon in due course.

At 1:00pm, we will officially rename Watery Lane in memory of the late, great John Snipe, recognising his outstanding contribution to the club.

Then, at 2:00pm, Club President Dave Snipe will take on Club Chairman Ken Rae in a President's XI vs Chairman's XI clash. Expect coloured kit, music, big hitting, plenty of laughs, and no shortage of banter as two Earlswood teams go head-to-head.

Street food from Gourmet Gecko will also be available throughout the day.

This is a hugely significant milestone in the club's history, and we would love to see as many people as possible join us to celebrate. Whether you are a current or former player, club member, parent, local resident, or simply someone who enjoys a great day out, you will be very welcome.

Please make a note of the dates in your diary and come along to celebrate this special occasion. The club has provided so much to many people over the last 150 years, and with your continued support, we can ensure it continues to do so for many years to come. Events like this play an important role in helping us provide the opportunities and experiences that make our club so special.

We look forward to celebrating with you.

Many thanks.

On Sunday 30th August (Bank Holiday Sunday)

Earlswood Cricket Club will be officially renaming the ground after the legend that is John Snipe, who sadly passed away earlier in the year.

A ceremony will be taking place at Watery Lane at 1pm, with Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP officially renaming the ground.

John’s family will be in attendance and we would welcome anyone that knew him, along with members of the club past and present to join us for this momentous occasion.

There will then be a Presidents XI v Chairman’s XI game starting at 2pm, in memory of John, and the clubs first Junior Jim Clarke who we remember every August Bank Holiday and in celebration of the clubs 150 year anniversary.

There will be food available throughout the day and the bar open.

Please do come and join us for this special occasion.
