The Green Cardigan

Hi everyone.. In readiness for the 2017 Green Cardigan, can people start letting me know 4-balls that they would like to play in? We are going to put a sign up sheet in the bar this weekend, but can pre-populate it with some groups already.

Hi All,

Another Green Cardy is upon us... On 10th April 2016 OGC will once again be the finely manicured battlefield for the top, and not so top golfing talent from Olton and beyond. The final round of the masters will be the evening entertainment with optional light (or heavy) refreshments.

George Parker (first winner) and Paul Sykes (founder but never close to winning) are in the organising hotseats this year after Simon Harwin (El Gonk) has stepped down. He has turned this event into the great annual event we now enjoy (with this being the 8th year!), so we thank him greatly for his efforts and hope we can build on his success.

A sign up sheet will be going up in the bar over the next few days so please sign up when you can. George and I will also be happy for you to contact us on facebook to reserve your spot. Also, in the spirit of club involvement we would be happy to receive suggestions on improvements you would like us to make to make the event as good and inclusive as possible.

We are still finalising the tee off time, format and food options (i.e. Everything!), but for the meantime please let us know if you would like to play.. Please note you will need an official handicap!

Well, another Cardigan is over but still enjoying the Masters. Congratulations to our new champions Rob Tovey and Del Lakin-Hall. Never has the Cardigan had more difficult conditions.
