The canter hack season is nearly over! Probably 4weeks left now before it gets a bit iffy. What a season it’s been!
Starting beginning of April, I think I’ve had the best horsey team ever this year and a great range of humans too. Horses had plenty of sparkle but super behaved (give or take). We had 2-3-4 hour routes, fast gallops, Bluebell ride, Eclipse ride, Fizz (my birthday) ride, friends riding, Old Brook Farm trip, and almost entirely Sunny! 😎

Up on Dartmoor, near Lukesland, I spotted this lovely ol’mare with foal at foot. Looks to me to be an Arab or perhaps part-bred Arab. I wonder if she will cope assuming left out on moor all winter.

Lovely evening lesson teaching 5 riders in Big Outdoor Arena. Great job Zuma and Hector showing the bigger sports horses how it’s done. Super coblets.

Autumn feels like it’s settling in now!
Our swallows have all left their nests now, although could be the flock grouping and roosting on nearby wires. They are such fascinating birds, so pleased we were able to lift two fledglings back into strategically placed boxes where parents fed them for a week before they flew.

Clippers are busy busy busy! Horses already very wooly and need a tidy up.

And: the most excitingly, my annual trip to see my dear ol Dad for his 89th birthday is nearly here. Completely non-horsey, my greatest sponsor, supporter, as well as groom and driver, much of my teen equine success and later on, our aspirations of owning CFEC has been thanks to him. Cheers Pa!

🐴 Evening Hacking season is nearly over. 🐴Just a few more then our canters as the light fades will shift to daytime. Weds morning and Sunday afternoons, with all other times by request. 😎
