That’s what his mum said before his first session.
One Tots United session later: “That was amazing! I loved that!” 😃
Meet Coach Stuart – one of our top football coaches at Tots United.
Stuart is training to be a geography teacher at Stirling University during the week. He travels back to the West of Scotland every weekend to coach kids at Tots United.
He popped into Tots United HQ to talk about what it really takes to coach young children – from “controlled chaos, not chaos” and making yourself look ridiculous so they’ll enjoy it, to the roughly one million high fives he reckons he’s given and received! 🙌
He also talks about children who arrive too shy to join in and, a few weeks later, sprint through the door because they can’t wait to get started.

Tots United® at FC Barcelona’s North American headquarters ⚽
We shared our early years football curriculum. And heard about how Barça approaches youth development and coaching.
We met with the Project Executive for the America Barça Academy and discussed how we coach the very youngest children, along with the CARE and LOVE values at the heart of everything Tots United does:
⚽ CARE: Confidence, Achievement, Respect and Enjoyment
🌟 LOVE: Learning, Optimism, Vitality and Empowerment
We also heard about Barça’s work in the US and the coaching philosophy behind its famous La Masia academy.
Earlier that week, we met with the President of the British American Business Council Miami and Regional Director for the Americas at the Global Institute of Sport. A scheduled hour happily became two, covering our development in Scotland, our progress in the US and the work the Global Institute of Sport does to open up education and qualifications for young people.
Two very different meetings. A lot of common ground on what good coaching gives a child.

Tots United® in Miami, Florida ☀️🌴
Confidence. Opportunity. A caring approach 🤝⚽🤸
Shared values 4,000 miles from home 🌎
During our time in Miami we visited organisations working with children and young people, and found a great deal that felt familiar.
We were hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, touring
their excellent facilities and learning about the programmes they
deliver. Different city, different setting, but the same belief in what sport and play can give a child.
We also met with GYMagination, a local gymnastics club which has a natural crossover with Tots United Gymnastics, and had a warm welcome from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, which invited us to its Trustee Reception with business leaders from across South Florida.
Different organisations, one clear common thread: creating positive opportunities for children, young people and communities.
