FINAL SUMMER ROUNDUP
6 Glasgow University athletes finish off their season with successful selections into the Scotland team for the Home International Regatta!
A huge congratulations to all of these athletes for their immense hard work and grit to achieve home country representation once more. Namely Kirsty who powered through England, Ireland and Wales to secure a GOLD in the Women’s Open Pair event. Herself and .sneader then went on to secure GOLD once again in the Women’s Eight event, showing a dominant performance against a strong English team.
The athletes above have represented Scotland a combined 19 times. A staggering amount, a real tribute to their mentality and something they should all be incredibly proud of. For the majority of these athletes it was their final race as part of GUBC, so we wish this lot the very best of luck in the future as they go on to strengthen our Alumni team!
If you’re interested in representing your country, having a go at conquering one of the most demanding sports there is, or in Glasgow University Boat Club and what we have to offer, then please shoot us a message!

SUMMER ROUNDUP 2
The senior women’s eight fought for the Colgan Foundation Cup, in the Aspirational Academic eights event at Henley women’s regatta.
After a successful qualifying result and progressing into side by side racing, the faced Colgate university. In brilliant fashion, we saw the girls WIN by 2/3 of a length, excited to race again on the final day of Henley women’s. The Sunday saw them face Nottingham University A, where they fought hard and didn’t give up without a good fight.
“We had a really brilliant time. The girls really brought together what we’ve been working on all season and it was great to see them really enjoy the racing and enjoy pushing each other on to get the best out of the experience. A great trip to finish the season.”

BUCS REGATTA 2026
Lots of highlights have come from this year’s BUCS regatta. Namely, in the women’s squad, seeing an A final in the women’s intermediate pair, and B final in the Women’s Intermediate 8’s.
Strong showings across the board, the women’s squad now look towards Henley Women’s and Henley Royal Regatta.
We also used the moment to say goodbye to our leavers, as it was their last BUCS regatta! All the best in the future, we’ll miss you all!
