We’re so excited to welcome ITV Tyne Tees to our Let’s Lift The Curfew run this Monday!

We’d love as many of our amazing friends and followers to join us as we highlight women's safety during the darker winter months.

Shorter days shouldn't stop anyone from getting active outdoors. Come down, show your support, and help us raise awareness so everyone feels safe running year-round.

πŸŽ₯ Please note: A film crew will be in attendance capturing the event!

β€œWhen the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October 2026, darker evenings will once again affect how many women choose to get active. Something as simple as heading out for a run, walk or jog can involve extra planning, changing routes, running at different times, or deciding not to go at all because of safety concerns.

As runners, we know the benefits of being active outdoors. Everyone should feel able to enjoy those benefits all year round, without feeling that shorter days and darker evenings limit their opportunities to get out and move.”

We’re proud to host our next Let’s Lift the Curfew run as part of the national campaign with This Girl Can Run

We’re so proud of how Thursday Trails has grown over the years and the confidence it’s helped people build when running on the trails, particularly through the dark winter months.

What started as a few lads running loops in the dark, with no one really knowing where they were going, has grown into one of our members’ favourite nights of the week!

A huge thank you to everyone who’s come along, given it a go and embraced the adventure, and to our lovely members and leaders who support, encourage and empower others on those early trail-running adventures.

From women’s safety and headtorch running to building confidence and resilience through the winter, Thursday Trails is about so much more than running. It’s about meeting up with friends, enjoying the peace and quiet and discovering what you’re capable of.

having others to meet up with at the same time every week is one of the easiest ways to find consistency & routine πŸ’«
