We’ve teamed up with Heinz UK to give 1,000 grassroots football teams a warm-up kit: a set of footballs, a ball bag and bibs.

Because every session starts somewhere — usually with a coach counting footballs while someone asks where the bibs went. 😅

The correct shinpad can make a huge difference. This happened to one of Towcester Town Football Club U16 players during a game this weekend. Take a look at that shin pad.

It took the impact so the player’s shin didn’t have to.

Football is physical. Tackles happen, boots connect and accidents happen — often with absolutely no intent or foul play involved.

That’s why at Towcester Town Football Club we insist that every player wears properly fitted shin pads for both training and matches. It’s not something we’re prepared to compromise on.

Parents — please check your child’s shin pads regularly. Make sure they’re in good condition and, importantly, big enough to provide meaningful protection. Those tiny fashion-style pads might look good, but protection is what matters.

This one certainly did its job! 👏💚⚽

RIP Dan 🥲 Grassroots football has lost one of its very best. 🖤⚽

Saffron Walden Community YSC are mourning the loss of much-loved coach Dan Finan, following an incredibly brave battle with brain cancer.

Dan never coached for recognition. He coached to give something back.

He celebrated every success like a World Cup victory, found something positive in every player and had a special ability to give a child the confidence to get back out there and try again.

This weekend, Dan will be remembered with a moment of applause before the club's fixtures.

Every child deserves someone who believes in them.

Dan was that person for so many — and they will never forget how he made them feel.

Our thoughts are with Dan's family, friends, players and everyone at Saffron Walden Community YSC.

Rest in peace, Dan. 🖤⚽

Some moments in grassroots football stay with you. After losing her Grandad, young Lacey still turned up to play for her U9 girls team.

Sometimes grassroots football is about goals, results and trophies.

And sometimes it’s simply about being with your teammates, having people put an arm around you and finding a little bit of normality when you need it most.

This was a few years ago, but it’s one we’ve never forgotten.

One of those grassroots moments. 💙⚽
