🧘‍♂️ What actually makes Vinyasa… Vinyasa?

It's easy to think of Vinyasa as simply the faster or more energetic style of yoga.

But vinyasa is often translated as “to place in a special way.”

At the heart of the practice is the relationship between breath and movement.

We aren't simply moving from one posture to the next. The transitions themselves become part of the practice.

Inhale — we create space.
Exhale — we move.
Breath gives the practice its rhythm.

That means a Vinyasa practice doesn't necessarily have to be fast or complicated.

It can be strong. It can be slow. It can be simple.

What matters is that we're paying attention to how we move, rather than simply trying to arrive at the next shape.

Sometimes the yoga is in the pose.

Sometimes it's in the space between them. 🌿

🌿 There's something special about a smaller yoga class 🧘🏽‍♂️

One of the things I'm really enjoying about teaching at The Serenity Barn Barn is having the opportunity to work with a smaller group.

Yoga doesn't look the same in every body.

In a smaller class there's more opportunity for me to notice what's happening on each mat — to offer an adaptation, suggest a different approach or simply give someone the confidence to explore their practice a little further.

And there's something lovely about the atmosphere too. A quiet countryside studio, a handful of mats and an hour to practise without rushing.

My Wednesday morning Vinyasa is deliberately kept small, with a maximum of just 8 people.

A couple of bonus opportunities to join me on the mat at Everyone Active Southam this week. 🌿

Vinyasa Flow
An energising evening practice connecting breath and movement, building strength and creating space after the day.

Yin Yoga
A slower end to the week with longer-held poses, stillness and time to soften and unwind.

These are extra cover classes, alongside my usual Tuesday and Thursday morning sessions.

🌿 What a season 🧘🏽‍♂️

Yesterday we rolled out our mats together at Ryton Pools Country Park for the final time this Park Yoga season.

Looking back to that first Sunday in May, I don't think I could have imagined quite what this community would become.

Week after week, people showed up. Some had practised yoga for years, some were stepping onto a mat for the very first time, and somehow we created something that felt like much more than simply an outdoor yoga class.

There have been busy mornings, sunny mornings, slightly soggy mornings, plenty of laughter and a lot of yoga.

Thank you to every single person who came along, whether you joined us once or made Sunday mornings part of your week.

Teaching you all has been a genuine privilege. 🙏

The Park Yoga season may be over, but I hope your practice isn't.

See you on the mat. 🌿

Are you a morning yoga person? ☀️🧘‍♂️

There’s something I really enjoy about practising yoga earlier in the day.

Before the day has completely taken over, you get an opportunity to move, breathe and spend a little time with yourself.

It doesn’t have to be about starting the day with an intense workout either.

A morning practice can help wake up a stiff body, connect movement with breath and give us a moment to focus before moving into everything else the day brings.

And perhaps most importantly — you’ve made some time for yourself before the rest of the world starts asking for it.

Do you prefer practising in the morning or evening? ☀️🌙

Three mats are still waiting… 🌿

Tomorrow morning I’ll be teaching my weekly Vinyasa Flow at The Serenity Barn, and there are still 3 spaces available.

This is a small-group class in a beautiful, peaceful studio, giving us plenty of space to move, breathe and practise together.

A little Friday morning yoga? 🧘‍♂️

My new weekly classes at Brixton Yoga, Leamington Spa are now underway, with two opportunities to practise with me each week.

🌿 Mondays • 10–11am
🌿 Fridays • 9:30-10:30am

Join me this Friday morning for an hour of Vinyasa Flow — moving with the breath, building strength and mobility, and creating a little space before heading into the weekend.

The class is welcoming and adaptable, so you don’t need to be an experienced yogi to come along.

📍 Brixton Yoga, Leamington Spa
🕙 Friday • 9:30-10:30am

If you’ve been thinking about trying one of my classes at Brixton, I’d love to see you there. 🙏🌿
