My capoeira journey

I discovered Capoeira in 2016 and I haven’t stopped since. I have been very lucky to meet truly inspiring Capoeira Masters, teachers and capoeristas since I started; each and every one of them helping me develop as a capoeirista. What I find the most interesting is that it combines many elements, making it a very rich activity with so much to learn. With its origins in enslaved Brazil, there is a very strong cultural aspect about Capoeira including, history oral traditions and rituals. Capoeira training is both physical and mental combining elements of dance, martial arts and music. My training sessions will work our flexibility, strength & movement flow as well as creativity and musicality. I train with Treinel Lobinho (Angoleiros do Mar Oxford) so during my sessions I mostly focus on Capoeira Angola. All capoeiristas are welcome, any age or ability to train, share and grow.

Plusieurs méta-discours (master narratives) établissent la manière comment l’histoire de la capoeira est racontée depuis le XXe siècle. Deux récits principaux dominent dans l’actuelle « guerre culturelle » à l'intérieur de l'univers de la capoeira.
