Hello SUTC!!
We are super excited to announce our first charity event of the year: SUTC × no limits charity event!!
As one of the biggest society’s we thought it was about time we did our bit for charity. So on the 9th November we will be putting on a a short format knockout tennis tournament featuring some of the best players this University has to offer. This is happening at 10:30am at Wide Lane. You will have the opportunity to watch some
AMAZING UTS style tennis matches which will last around 15 minutes each. There will also be FUN mini games which you can participate in yourself, a raffle with AWESOME prizes (eg free 1 on 1 coaching, professional sports massage etc..) and some YUMMY BBQ style food all for a small price but all funds will be going to the FABULOUS charity
No Limits.
Entry to this event is £5 and tickets can be bought on the susu box office (see link below) - The day will definitely be worth it, all profits go directly to charity.
We look forward to seeing you all there and make sure to let everyone know, whether they are tennis players or not, so we can raise as much money as possible!!

Hi everyone,

It's been great to see so many of you signing up for our trials and taster sessions and we can't wait to get started tomorrow. We have now had over 260 sign-ups which is absolutely fantastic! We have now unfortunately had to take the decision to close the trials + tasters sign-up to any more people so that we can provide great sessions for you and make sure you all get a decent amount of time on the courts.

If you are still interested in joining tennis, please still fill out the form below so we have your details and you will still be able to try out our first week of regular Development/Casual sessions (w/c 11th October) without our membership. If you were interested in our BUCS/Performance memberships, it is still possible to work your way up from the Development membership if you have the ability.

TRIALS SIGN-UP FORM + BUNFIGHT!!

The new tennis year is finally upon us and we’re so excited to get started! Our trials/taster sessions will be taking place this weekend and you can sign-up for them here! Even if you’re not around this weekend, please still fill out the form so that we know you’re interested in joining us and we can sort out an alternative session for you. You don’t have to know exactly which membership level you want to be in yet, we’re just looking to get a rough idea of your current tennis ability. We welcome people of all abilities, whether you’re already a pro or have never held a tennis racket in your life.

Once you have signed up, you will receive an email giving you a time slot to attend on either Saturday 2nd/Sunday 3rd. All sessions will take place at Wide Lane, which you can get to if you hop on the U1A bus and get off at Southampton Airport Parkway train station.

We will also be at Bunfight (the societies fair) today from 09:30 to 16:00 and it’d be great to see as many of you who are interested in joining as possible! It’s a great opportunity to meet some of our committee, ask any questions you might have and decide if SUTC is right for you.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, our bunfight day has been CHANGED to Thursday 30th and we will be located in the Jubilee Centre. All other events are unchanged - see the edited post for specifics!

Hello everyone, we are super excited to begin the new tennis year and welcome new and returning players! Here are the dates you need to know for the beginning of term.

- Thursday 30th September
- Bunfight - This is an opportunity to see us in person, along with the other clubs and societies to ask questions and find out what we have planned for this year! - WE WILL BE LOCATED IN THE JUBILEE CENTRE -

- Online Q&A - This is for those who could not attend our stall in person, but still want to ask questions about the club

*THIS MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE ON MICROSOFT TEAMS AND A LINK TO THIS MEETING WILL BE POSTED CLOSER TO THE DATE*

- Saturday and Sunday, 2nd/3rd October will be *TASTERS AND TRIALS*

This is where you will have the chance to show us what you've got!

Trials will determine which training group you will be placed in and whether you would be suitable for playing at our top competitive levels.
This will also serve as a chance to meet other new players and a majority of the committee who will be there too!

Sunday will be for those who cannot attend the Saturday session, but please try and attend the Saturday session.

Over the years our women’s team has gone from strength to strength. Supporting each other on and off the court the SUTC ladies at every level are truly inspiring.

This week we’ll be showcasing their amazing achievements and memories over the past years 🎾

This February the tennis society are taking part in the Uni B**b Team Varsity! It is a university challenge to walk, run or cycle as far as you can this February 🏃‍♂️ 🚴‍♀️🚶

This is to raise awareness and funds for CoppaFeel, a charity promoting the early detection of breast cancer.

Hello everyone, we hope you are doing well.
This post is an update for you all. With the new lockdown being introduced and the uncertainty of when we will be able to go back to training, the committee has made the decision that a proportion of your membership will be refunded at end of the academic year in order to compensate for the missed sessions. We will do this later in year, so we can refund everyone 1 payment rather than multiple.

In addition earlier this week we received news from BUCS that this years season has been cancelled. So unfortunately there will be no BUCS matches. However, we have received news that we could potentially play some matches against local universities in term 3. Obviously this is all dependent on the latest government guidance and also the guidance that the LTA provides.

**UPDATE**
Hi everyone!
We have received news from the students union regarding club activity. The government guidance is that no extra curricular activity should take place before the end of term. The aim is to reduce in person contact prior to students going home for Christmas.
Therefore, unfortunately there will be no more tennis for the remainder of this term. :(
We hope to be playing tennis with you all soon when we are allowed!
As always we will update you with our plans nearer the time.
