With the local elections coming up, with all parties knocking doors wanting your votes, please honestly ask them what they are going to do for the local community. The current council are not allowed discussions with us at the moment due to the local elections but please remember who put us in this situation in the first place, the current crop of councillors did. Is it time for change in the local area? We need the right people to be voted in to ensure the community can keep the facilities they currently have.

GOOD NEWS

We have today signed an extension to our current licence until 31st August 2023.

What does this mean.

It means we can see the season out. It also means we can try and work with Fawley Parish Council to get the right deal for both parties going forward.

We would like to thank everybody that has got behind us to achieve this.

Letโ€™s hope we can come to a long term
Solution. But from now until the end of April itโ€™s time to concentrate on what we all love. Football. Then we will look to sort everything out going forward.

What a community we have and this has just shown us the support we have within this community.

UP THE WATERSIDERS

19/02/2023

See in formation from the website re QE2 Recreation Gound Pavilion.

The QE2 Recreation Ground is the newest of Parish Council facilities.

It was jointly funded by New Forest District Council, Hampshire County Council, Fawley Parish Council and the Football Foundation.

What was omitted in the above is that it was on the back of Blackfield & Langley FC, however the football foundation is mentioned.

This is meant to be for the Community, where are the Fawley Falcons now? Another youth football club.

19/02/2023

So yesterday we were asked a few times how people can contact the council direct.

[email protected]

That is the email address of the chairman of the council.

Once again I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for the continued support that we have.

18/02/2023

So today we lost 2-0 ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ. Whatvis gutting for a football club we are trying to save we got awarded the club of the month award from the Wessex Football League we invited Fawley Parish Council down to witness this and be involved in a day that is special to the club and guess what. Not 1 person turned up. It shows what this club means to the council. Luckily we had our loyal supporters the league and everyone else here to support us. Very shameful on the council who think they bend over backwards to help us. That is there statement not ours. Disgusting. Shame Fawley Parish Council could not support there local football club. Just goes to show they are not interested in what happens here.

18/02/2023

Tune in.

18/02/2023

We would like to thank everybody for there continued support and please letโ€™s keep this going. What is also really nice to see is most of the local businesses backing us. We have had one who thinks it is funny to ridicule us but that is up to them. Thanks for all the support it is massive to us and means so much.

This meeting has really annoyed me, the way I see it is:

Firstly some people do not have the courage of their own convictions.

People are scared/intimidated by other people and will not challenge them, even though it is right for the Community.

Who are the leaders here?

I realise all the Councillors are volunteers, but so are we and I would suspect we do a lot more hours, the only time some of our volunteers get a rest from it all is when they are sleeping, but not all the time, you can get phone calls and messages throughout the night, we donโ€™t whine or moan, we get on with it for our passion about the teams we are trying to run for the local Community.
We choose to do this and enjoy it.

All our Committee, volunteers, players, helpers have Values and Standards.

1. Courage. Be able to see something wrong in any situation and stand up to wrong and put it right.

If you feel the Licence/ Contract is wrong then challenge it, it must suit both parties, at the moment this is so one side itโ€™s a wonder the paper it is written doesnโ€™t fall over.

2. Discipline. Whether self discipline or enforced by an organisation, discipline draws a line on what is expected which in turn builds trust, confidence and defeats fear.

3. Respect for Others. It should be simple to say that everyone is born free and equal in dignity. We should all be respected regardless of our differences, which are vast.

Well what can I say about that there was no respect shown to the Loacal Community on Wednesday night, again all one sided, we all should have been able to speak, never mind time restrictions, this is why we are here now, a few of us could not get it off their chest.

4. Integrity. This means doing the right thing, whether youโ€™re being watched or are in private. Being open and honest builds trust between friends, colleagues and other people that you interact with.

Need I say anymore, everything keeps changing, why?

5. Loyalty. Being loyal to your team, whether a sports team, work team or family team helps to bond individuals into a cohesive element. Being loyal to your values and standards is also important, do not misplace your loyalty by covering up wrongdoing to save a friend from trouble, use your integrity and courage to place your loyalty correctly.

None there.

6. Selfless Commitment. Well we all know what that means or do we.

Standards:
Lawful
Acceptable behaviour
Professional.

I have now had time to reflect on the meeting we had on Wednesday, it wasnโ€™t good, in actual fact I firmly believe it was a complete sham, we tried, we werenโ€™t listened to.

No wonder you do not get many people at these meetings, I will never attend another one, it was not professional, in actual fact, it was worse that some of the club committee meeting I have attend.
People whispering to each other, little notes being sent round.

Sent by totally cheesed off.

17/02/2023

Unfortunately the Blackfield & Langley Football Club has always been ar logger heads with the Parish Council, ask any of the previous committees and the old stalwarts that still use the place.

I really donโ€™t understand why, this is a professionally run outfit.

What upset me most at the Council meeting on Wednesday was the fact the Chairman of the Council stated.
โ€œIf the football club closes then be it on your headโ€
I donโ€™t see it that way, are we not meant to work together, draw up a contract, (that is what the licence is) that is acceptable to all and sundry, we are being dictated to, that is not fair is it.

The football club have the local communities interest at heart, it appears the Parish Council donโ€™t, which I do not understand.

The local community have put loads of time, effort and money towards the running of this club, they deserve the right to keep it, there is nothing else for them like this.

I think I now understand why the Hampshire Yeoman and the Holbury have been converted to convenience stores. Take away the drinking holes as they are called.

What is a Parish Council?

A parish council is a local authority that makes decisions on behalf of the people in the parish and has an overall responsibility for the well-being of its local community. It is the level government closest to the community, with the district authority above it in the hierarchy. As it is the authority closest to the people, parish councils are invariably the first place people will go with concerns or ideas. For this reason they are a vital part of any community.

Its work falls into three main categories:

representing the local community
delivering services to meet local needs
striving to improve quality of life in the parish

You need to ask yourselves the above three questions, I know what the answers will be.

Fawley Parish Council | Licence offered to Football Club 17/02/2023

https://www.fawley-pc.gov.uk/licence-offered-to-football-club/

Please click the link and have a read. Yes the Ckerk of the council did offer to help. But for what alternative reason? We declined her help because there is alteria motives.

Please everybody read the licence on offer and tell me if you would sign this licence. Again their own website clearly states that the centre has something for everyone in the community, unless you want refreshments that is. They do serve hot drinks upstairs. The good news is we are on the radio on Sunday to explain to everybody what is going on. We will do all we can to keep this historic football club going.

AGAIN PLEASE SHARE AWAY.

Fawley Parish Council | Licence offered to Football Club Fawley Parish Council has offered Blackfield and Langley Football Club a 5 year licence to operate a bar from the Gang Warily building. The site is a multi use community space with other sports, play area, skatepark, gym and offices which means particular care must be taken when placing a bar on the...

17/02/2023

Please share this page far and wide. We need Fawley Parish Council to come to their senses and give us back what we have had. At the moment we have until next Wednesday to agree on something. We as a club have refused the offer on the table as it does not benefit the football club whatsoever. Please push this as much as you can as we are running out of time. All email addresses for the councillors can be found on Fawley Parish Councils website. Letโ€™s get onto them and show them what this Parish wants.

16/02/2023

Well, once again we are helping the local Community, we have been approached by two Students who are studying for their Sports therapist Award, they will be trained by the Blackfield and Langley FC physiotherapist.
As I keep saying we are here for the local community, education is very important to these youngsters.

16/02/2023

Why have we started this page.

In 2019 I took over as Chairman of this fantastic football club with great history. To keep the club sustained we requested full use of the bar facilities to fund the football club.

Along with our very generous sponsors this is the only income we have apart from matchdays where we get turnstile takings and T-Hut takings.

Fawley Parish Council served us notice to terminate our licence of use in the bar area trying to push us to sign an absolute nonsense licence.

They want to rent the room out between the hours of 0900 - 1500 this then prevents us from setting up, stocking up etc etc.

We need to fight to keep our original licence or this great football club that has been around since 1935 will have to get dissolved.

The council claim to be for the community however we are paying the council on a monthly basis to supply this facility to the community.

The community that use this facility love the facility and I have had nothing but positive feedback on how friendly the place is.

The council are using noise as a reason. People walking down the side path. The side path that is next to the 5 A-side courts, the same 5 a-side courts that make a lot more noise then what people walking into a community bar make.

Please share this page far and wide and letโ€™s get this great community behind us and letโ€™s make the council listen to the local community.
