Yoga flow class on Monday 5.30-6.30pm
A space for you to flow with like minded people. Each week we explore balance, create strength throughout the whole body by finding our core stability and find calm and focus in the mind. The beauty of our yoga classes is that we always have a laugh and never take things to seriously. ๐Ÿ™

This Friday join us for a wonderful Yin yoga practice; 6.30pm-7.15pm to breathe, calm and focus the mind while also releasing into the deeper areas of the body. We will use props in our practice to support us into the poses and allow us to surrender into gravity. This is a space for like minded people who want to find some solace and maybe even have a little laugh. Students are always encouraged to arrive with an open mind and never to take things to seriously, life is already hard enough. Got questions, reach out. Fancy learning something new or diving a bit deeper into yoga and all the things it has to offer?

The word Yoga in Sanskrit translates to 'yoke' or to 'unite'. The absolute beauty of yoga is that the lessons learned on your yoga mat can often be used in our day to day lives.

In this beginners course we will explore yoga as a whole. We will dive into the benefits of the poses, breathwork and meditation, whilst providing a friendly and comfortable space for you to meet like minded people.

The course is for beginners and improvers, non-bendy and bendy bodies to come, explore and learn something new in a really relaxed environment.

Thursday 14th December 6-7pm - A gentle flow, with some strength based poses, breathwork and always mediation to calm the mind.
Monday 18th December 5.30-6.30pm - A yummy flow class where we will create some heat within the body, have a few laughs and find some calm.
Thursday 21st December - We are lucky enough to be meeting on winter solstice, this will be a beautiful nurturing flow. A chance to slow down and go inward. I will be offering some cacao for ยฃ3 to help bring us into our heart space and move with loving kindness.

Yoga is perfect for supplementing your running, by adding it into your routine, you will gain flexibility and strength, reduce the risk of injury and improve your overall running performance. With regular yoga practice you will benefit from:

- Stretching to overcome muscle tightness, seasoned runners often experience tight hamstrings and Achilles tendons, and yoga can help lengthen these areas of the body reducing the risk of injuries.
- Lengthening the posterior chain during the postures which increases your stride length.
- Tuning into new muscles and muscle groups that will support your primary mover muscles while running.
- Yoga breathing which can increase lung capacity, which will help with your endurance during longer runs.

The great thing about yoga is that itโ€™s easy to do at home but if you'd like an introduction to yoga or some guidance to perfect your practice, why not join Anna in a small class where she can help.

She discovered Pilates when looking for motivation and creative ways to manager her returning back and shoulder pain. Having practiced various forms of exercise over her adult years (including cycling, weight lifting, martial arts and dance) and suffered with numerous injuries she found Pilates had completely changed the way she moves and is passionate about teaching others to find ease of movement in their own bodies.

Simon has qualified as a Personal Trainer with Fitness Business Academy in 2014, and obtained her Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Mat pilates from Active IQ via JPilates in 2022. She teaches traditional Pilates inspired mat classes focusing on building strength and mobility.

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to those of you I haven't yet had the chance to meet.

My name is Anna and I teach yoga classes in Southampton.

I found yoga nearly 9 years ago. At the time I was looking for something which would help me to be a little kinder to myself and help me grow from the place I was in.

What happended when I started to practice regularly was magical and over time I realised that I wanted to share this beautiful practice with others.

My classes are a space for you to grow and learn how wonderful your body is. We breathe and move in an intutitive way with zero judgement but lots of smiles and sometimes laughter.

If you would like to meet like minded people and connect to your inner self, come and join me on the mat.

I'm thrilled to have a piece of the balance body contrology range at the studio, it's not only beautiful but replicates the original function, style and finish of Joseph Pilates' equipment. Get ready for some classical work in class!

What are you looking for in a yoga mat? Read on for my guidance...

A new student recently asked me how they should chose which yoga mat to buy, and, after dispensing my wisdom, I thought I would write it all down for anyone else that is interested.

You might be surprised to know that I am in no way encouraging you to go out and buy a new mat immediately. In fact, after starting to investigate the environmental credentials of yoga mats, I have made a resolution not to buy another one if I can help it. There is no getting away from the fact that the vast majority of yoga mats are made from new plastic. I don't want, or need, any more of that in my life.

I spent this weekend brushing up on my Reformer knowledge with JPilates. We focused on all the progressive exercises, I can't wait to share them with my Reformer people. My back is definitely feeling all the hard work and what a mess behind the camera!
