My Little Piglet coming on nicely…..She is going to make the loveliest first pony for someone!

So Sunday night this one decided to give me the biggest scare!

Sunday evening I had the vet come out and the outcome was not looking good. A suspected sepsis in the tendon left this one with a whole host of IV antibiotics and a sleepless night for me!

Monday the Vet was back and I had prepared myself for a trip to Liphook and a week at the vets! But that wasn’t the case! She had gone from stiff, hopping lame to sound in walk overnight! It was caught so early and antibiotics started that thankfully it hadn’t turned septic! If I had left it till the next morning the outcome could have been very different!

We’re not out of the woods just yet but fingers crossed a weeks box rest and lots of drugs and this one will be brand new!

I don’t thing either of us would survive the minimum six month box rest from that operation. She’s been in 2 days and she’s starting to lose her mind 🤦🏼‍♀️

Things can change in horses so quickly that if you feel something isn’t quite right act fast! Just overnight this infection could have taken a hold and could have cost my girly a lot of pain and horrible and hard 6 months.

Busy few weeks for me with work and my own mare bring her back into full time work!
We have been focusing on keeping things slow and calm which has seemed to work really well in stopping the ‘tantrums’ yesterday we had our first canter since I started riding again 6 weeks ago and she behaved like an Angel and willing put her head down onto the bit and did some work!
Next week the poles are coming out 🤪
