Merry Christmas and Happy New Year SUTKD πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘Š
Introducing Southampton University Taekwondo Club SUTKD first social of the year - an SUTKD games night! On Monday 28th of September, join us for our first ever online games night! The event starts at 8pm and the link can be found on Native (the universities welcome site with Freshers events) or on our page event. If you're struggling to find the link, just message us 😁

Put on your detective hat and come join us for a night of social deduction games, where you will get to know more about each other and have lots of fun! We will be playing werewolf and undercover.

I appreciate these are challenging times for us all, and this is not the typical Freshers week. Unfortunately in person socials aren't permitted for more than 6 people, but we don't want you to miss out completely, so we've come up with an online alternative so you can all get to know the club and its members. We hope to see you all soon! Any questions, feel free to DM us.

Today is time to talk day 😁

Run by @mindcharity and @rethinkmentalillness this day is about creating supportive communities by having conversations with friends, family, or colleagues about mental health. By talking about it, we can support ourselves and others.

Why is this day so important? Well, 1 in 4 of us experience a mental health problem each year! So we want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health whenever they like. By creating a safe environment, people can work together to help overcome their mental health problems.

If you ever need to talk to anyone, remember our welfare officer @charis0_0 is available!

Take care πŸ₯‹

Hello Everyone,

As its assessment and exam period at the moment, I just wanted to remind everyone that I'm here to talk if anyone needs some support. The university are also offering extra activities at the moment to help destress and of course what better way than kicking some things at tae kwon do.

Wishing everyone the best of luck and just remember your worth regardless of how the assessments turn out ☺️

Stay safe,
Welfare Officer, Charis Xx

Our first session of the year is today 5-7pm in the martials arts room πŸ‘ŠπŸΎ

If you plan on training please sign up via the Google form on our members only group and via the UOS sport app (you must do both).

In light of the number of COVID cases, we highly recommend taking a lateral flow test before attending a training session, especially with in person exams around the corner. Be sensible - if you're symptomatic please don't attend training.

If you haven't brought semester 2 membership yet then you must do this before you attend your next session (this doesn't apply to those who brought the yearly membership).

Beginners are also welcome! Any questions with regards to any of this then feel free to drop us a message.

See you all soon,

President

Merry Christmas to everyone at SUTKD!

From starting the year in lockdown doing zoom sessions to ending the year on a high with BUCS and 68 members registered on BT, it's been quite the year for us as a club! We hope you have enjoyed training so far, and thank you to all new and old members for being patient with us when adjusting to government guidelines over the course of the year and hope you've enjoyed getting back into the swing of contact training and competing!

Thank you to our instructors for still giving us good quality training despite the circumstances we've faced over the coming year, and for giving up your time to lead up to 5 sessions a week and giving up your weekends to coach us at competitions. Fingers crossed we are back in the new year and there are no more restrictions 🀞🏾

Look after yourselves over the Christmas period, make time to relax and stay safe and have a merry Christmas and happy new year. Remember the committee are only a message away if anyone ever needs anything. Stay safe and we hope to see you all soon.

President

Photos from Southampton University Taekwondo Club SUTKD's post 03/12/2021

Hi Everyone,

Today is international day of people with disabilities!! Not all disabilities are visible and so any concerns just speak to someone on comittee or one of the coaches and we'll do our best to accommodate you. We hope everyone has an enjoyable time at the club and makes progress, the rise of para tkd in recent years has really shown that Tae Kwon do can be a sport for everyone.
It's been particularly difficult for people with disabilities with covid so remember to always be considerate of others as you can't always see hidden disabilities. Remember to always be respectful to each others limits and to your own, if you can't do something just say ❀️

Stay safe,
