‼️Today I am writing a slightly different post than I thought I would in the lead up to us opening in September with our first cohort of eager dancers ready and excited for their futures.

Instead of congratulating them on their successful applications, I have had to deliver the news that the college place that they have so rightfully secured is now in jeopardy due to the funding company, who we had partnered with, pulling out, just 8 weeks from us opening.

Yes that’s right, we are one of a number of sites across the country who have been told that no funding will be available for this September 😱!!

Months of planning, promoting and hard work has gone into us setting up this college and I’m determined not to let a lack of funding derail us! But that’s the harsh reality we are facing. I have students who have declined other colleges to be a part of Southampton Dance College, because they can see the unique opportunity that learning with us will give them, but who can’t afford to self fund the course….

So now my next challenge, and one I am appealing to the wider community to help me with, is to secure funding for these gorgeous dancers who are so desperate to still attend.

If you are a local business and have an interest in helping us secure funding, be it by donation or sponsorship, we would love for you to get in touch with us? Any and all suggestions are welcome at this stage….I will update you all as and when we have more details or information. 💫
