Well that was a tough cup game to watch. In an end to end battle once again we come out on top from a great finish from nick our cam whom found him self playing right midfield at the time of his match winning goal due to injuries.

Every single player fought hard today we made it hard for ourselves although given Durley chances it was us at solent whom had the better sadly just not taking them.

Great game of football either way full respect to Durley fought hard and gave a great account of themselves. Results going our way within the league it's a double win this weekend.

Man if the match pat grabbing him self a crate of beer. ( a contested decision)

Sadly our home game this weekend is postponed. A pitch inspection has deemed it too unsafe to play. Bring on the summer ☀️

Tis the day before another home game.
Today marks a big day, our manager trailing some game analysis. We have heard the tripod is out and ready ( if you know our manager that can mean two things). Looking back over our last game and hopefully improving the already great squad with some video assessments.

Watch this space if this goes well this will be happening every Friday.

Training day!!!
What an evening ahead 21 players turning up to training we here don't envy the manager, if his job wasn't hard enough keeping players warm and not stood still in this weather is going to be hard. No doubt he will find a way to make you work.
Great to see so many players out getting ready for our next game. Good to see two players returning from injuries keep it light gents want you back for the season.

Well if two goals weren't enough man of the match grans himself a crate of beer from the manager.

What a performance today from the players. On another day inmar vets might have been in the game but a 6-2 win brings home the bacon leaving us top of the league where we belong

Well what can we say. What a year we have had.
There's been tears there's been laugh there's been a lot of injuries but there has been more beers.

The turn around these players have made this year not just in result but in attitude and effort levels is incredible and it's why we are finishing the year top of the table.

We have welcomed new players in to the side we have sadly said good bye to a few and wish them the best on the new adventures they are starting.

From managers making subs that turned out not required (sorry about that loss lads) to last minute winners i can safely say I have enjoyed every second on the side lines. I have quite enjoy the head to head battle and mind games with the other team/management.

There has been alot of beer pictures shared but we will never get over all of Dan's feet pictures and the yearly membership to feet finder.

The hard work behind the scenes can't go without a mention. Huge thanks to Steve fletch without you running everything no solent sports team would be where they are you build the strong foundations we all sit upon. Small shout out to Mike at our sister club solent sports eastleigh not only a manager now the vets secretary ( still have love even tho your are the enemy)

Above all else we have stayed united as a team when all else around us argued and fighting and falling apart. We have battled we have fought we have given everything. For this with all my heart I thank every single player and the family you bring along to the games you have made this year what it is.

From all of us at solent sports hamble we wish you all a happy new year and look forward to seeing you all at our open top bus tour with the league trophy.

12/11/2024

Would you have a look at that. Sitting proudly at the top (don't worry about that other team)

What a season the lads are having. No one deserves to be here more then our lads.

Match Report: Solent Sports Vets 3-0 Michelmersh Reserves
Date: 9th November 2024
Kickoff: 2:30 PM

The match kicked off with a warm moment, as Solent Sports Vets gathered to sing happy birthday to Mark’s wife, who was there to support the team on her special day. Spirits were high as Solent looked to continue their unbeaten run and complete a season double over Michelmersh Reserves.

However, the game got off to an unexpected start. Just ten seconds in, key player Nick pulled up with a hamstring injury, forcing an early substitution. Solent quickly regrouped and poured on the pressure with fantastic teamwork. The defense, rock-solid throughout, initiated much of the attacking play. Mags controlled the midfield, and Shane created trouble up top for Michelmersh’s defense. Despite multiple chances, Solent struggled to convert until a brilliant play saw Shane weave past a defender, setting up Randall for an unstoppable strike. The keeper had no chance as Randall’s rocket made it 1-0 to Solent.

Michelmersh responded with a good spell of play, but Solent’s defense stayed firm. When a loose ball fell to Michelmersh’s number 8, just three yards from the goal, the crowd gasped. Somehow, he missed, much to the relief of the Solent supporters.

The first half ended with Solent in the lead but needing a sharper edge in front of goal. After a stern talk from the manager, Solent came out in the second half determined to finish the game off.

Solent continued to push forward, with Forshaw having a blast advancing from defense. Then, a scrappy midfield battle saw Bramwell hustle Michelmersh’s midfield, securing possession and laying off the ball to Randall. Randall unleashed what might be one of the finest goals ever seen in Vets football: a blistering 30+ yard rocket that hit the crossbar, bounced down to the floor, clipped the bar again, and nestled in the back of the net. An absolute screamer that had everyone in awe. 2-0 Solent.

Another chance for Solent, a beautifully taken corner met by Duncan looked certain to mate it 3-0 was cleared oof the line

Michelmersh had another brief spell of possession, but Duncan and Jamie in Solent’s defense were impenetrable, thwarting every attack. Any rare breakthroughs were confidently handled by Mark in goal, who preserved the clean sheet.

As the game neared its end, Solent was awarded a penalty. Randall calmly stepped up and buried it, completing his first hat-trick of the season and sealing the game at 3-0.

Final Score: Solent Sports Vets 3-0 Michelmersh Reserves
Man of the Match: Luke Randall

Randall’s performance was outstanding. Not only did he score a hat-trick, but his relentless energy and skillful play kept Solent in control all game.

An honorable mention goes to Solent’s chairman, who chose not to charge the veo so Randall’s will never see his incredible second goal.

Another clean sheet for the defense rounds off a superb team performance.
