My 1st Spartan 10km and a 1hr PB for the big dawg
Coxy grabbed me a ticket, told me to man up and meet him in Henley at 9am on 17th May. If youāve not done it, do it, itās a great event.
The PB isnāt even the best bit⦠2 years ago Coxy endured treatment for a horrific and wide spread diagnosis. Thatās a big story for another time which Iād like to share. Being able to run along side this incredible guy, knowing what heās been through is bloody priceless.

They smashed it!
Most people walk into the gym and expect to fail.
You load the bar knowing thereās a rep that might not go up.
You push to the point where it burns, shakes, and humbles you.
And you accept it⦠because you know thatās where growth lives.
But outside the gym?
Different story.
You hesitate. You overthink. You stay comfortable.
Not because you canātā¦
But because youāre scared.
Scared people will judge.
Scared itās ānot what your kind of people do.ā
Scared of what happens if you go for it⦠and it doesnāt work.
So instead, you sit in the middle.
Safe. Predictable. Stuck.
Hereās the truthā
Fear isnāt the enemy. Ignorance is.
From what Iāve seen, risk and fear shrink when knowledge grows.
The more you understand something, the more reps youāve done, the more experience you stackā¦
The less power fear has over you.
You donāt need to eliminate fear.
You need to outgrow it.
And you do that the same way you train:
Break the challenge down.
Make it smaller. Manageable. Repeatable.
One rep at a time.
No one walks into the gym and deadlifts 200kg on day one.
So why are you expecting yourself to conquer life in one jump?
Start messy. Start unsure. Start anyway.
Because one day, this all ends.
And the real fear?
Isnāt failing.
Itās lying there at the end of your life wondering what wouldāve happenedā¦

A year ago, in February, two people crossed paths carrying similar stories ā both of us coming out of chapters we hadnāt chosen to close, both unsure what the future was about to look like. There was no grand plan, no certainty⦠just a conversation that felt different from the very start.
What followed wasnāt forced, it wasnāt complicated ā it just was. Effortless in a way that only makes sense when youāve lived enough life to recognise it. Age gives you that quiet awareness⦠the ability to feel something real without needing to question it. And with you, I knew.
Davina, you are without doubt the most caring, supportive, driven little pocket rocket Iāve ever met. You bring a level of energy, strength and warmth into my life that I didnāt know I was missing ā and because of that, I can genuinely say Iām the happiest Iāve ever been.
This past year hasnāt exactly been the simplest one to step into. There have been loose ends, challenges, and things that needed navigating behind the scenes ā the kind that test patience and resilience. But through all of it, youāve stood there, steady and unwavering.
And despite that, look at what weāve achieved already. Ultra marathons, half marathons, HYROX races, mountains climbed⦠a life lived properly. Iām so proud to have front row seats to watching your growth. And now weāre working on our big plan together. Youāve taken what couldāve been a lost period of time and turned it into something Iām proud of ā something that actually feels like it means something.
One year down.
A lifetime to go. ā„ļø

Meet Bethāsheās a total inspiration!
I met Beth in one of my HYROX classes. We trained together and she proved shes a proper tough one!
After chatting, she opened up about her previous poor relationship with food and how she wants to change her mindset
This isnāt just about the 7.5kg lost (although thatās huge).
Itās about rebuilding trust with food, learning how to train with purpose, and proving to herself that sheās capable of things she once thought were out of reach.
From turning up to SKWAT classes unsure where to startā¦

ā”ļø to completing her first ever half marathon
ā”ļø to feeling confident, energised, and proud of the woman sheās becoming.
And the best part?
