Midlife can feel chaotic.
But whatever you want to achieve —
(and yes, that includes fat loss)
👉 it starts with energy.
These are your energy anchors.
Simple.
Often overlooked.
Very effective.
→ consistently, not perfectly
That’s how you bank health.
👉 Follow for simple energy anchors in midlife

Bank holiday plans:
nothing fancy…
No big plan.
No pressure to do more.
Just simplicity.
And honestly?
This is probably doing me more good than anything else would today.

Still learning this one…
Not easy.
But definitely worth it.

I turned a year older this weekend 🎂
And more than anything, it felt like a reminder that
birthdays are a gift in themselves.
Another year of life.
Also a chance to pause.
To reflect.
Because the past year has been… a lot.
A proper sandwich generation year.
The kind that stretches you in ways you don’t expect.
And more than once, I caught myself thinking…
👉 I wouldn’t have been able to deal with this a few years ago.
Not because life was easier.
But because I wasn’t looking after myself properly.
These days, I feel different.
Stronger — physically.
More steady — emotionally.
Not perfect.
Just… more resourceful.
Even now, with a little health wobble in the background,
I notice how I’m approaching it.
Less panic.
More pragmatism.
More trust that I’ll get through it.
And that doesn’t happen by accident.
It comes from the small things, done consistently, over time.
That’s what I mean when I talk about banking health.
Not just for the good days.
But for the ones that really test you.
And for that, I’m really grateful. And ready for the year to come 🌸

Back to real life this week… with a bit of a nerve pain flare-up to manage.
Not ideal. Very frustrating.
But equally a good reminder of something I see a lot in midlife:
👉 Progress isn’t about pushing through everything.
👉 It’s about knowing when to adapt.
So right now, things look a bit different for me:
No running
No heavy lifting
Gentle movement
Lots of lying down 🤪
And a positive mindset — this will pass
Not because I’ve gone backwards.
But because I want to keep moving forward — long term.
This isn’t falling behind.
It’s banking health.

In midlife, ignoring your body isn’t toughness. It’s poor strategy.
This morning I stopped my run after 2 km.
Nothing dramatic.
Just my back telling me something wasn’t quite right.
Ten years ago I would probably have pushed through.
Finished the session.
Called it discipline.
And made it worse.
But midlife has given me a bit of a superpower:
Listening to my body.
Because sometimes the smartest training decision
is knowing when to stop.
Stopping today often means you can keep moving tomorrow.
That’s not weakness.
That’s power.
And that’s what banking health looks like.

A lot of people think midlife decline is inevitable.
But very often what I see is something much simpler.
People trying to keep the same habits they had when they were younger.
Less sleep.
Poor fuelling.
Training hard but recovering poorly.
Running on stress and caffeine.
Many of us got away with it in our twenties.
Midlife doesn’t mean decline.
It often just means the body now asks for updated habits and better support.
Better sleep.
Better fuelling.
Strength training.
Recovery.
Small upgrades.
Big health deposits.
